Hey Yupette,
Do you know what Barbara Favola is up to in her County Board office? Working on still more deals for her employer, Marymount University, this time to get exclusive use of public land in East Falls Church for Marymount's soccer, lacrosse, and field hockey teams.

Wasn't Marymount's steal of public park land in Longbridge Park enough? Incredible.
Favola should be investigated by the Virginia State AG for repeated conflicts of interest.
Favola completely fd-up what was formerly a quiet residential neighborhood on Old Dominion and Glebe Road.
In 5 years the only park land that won't be posted "Reserved for Use by Non-Profit Organizations" will be Douglas Park across from Zimmerman's home.
How about Nada Tejada? What else is he doing on the County Board but helping the soccer organizations help themselves to County-owned park land?
Take over of EFC parks by Bishop O'Connell HS and Marymount Univ will be on the County Board's agenda October 23rd.
If the parks are going to be reserved for non-profit sports teams what's left but our back yards? So why the tear downs of single family homes for development for the sake of development? County Board are a bunch REIT boosters. We should have voted them out years ago.
There is no real public open space left in Fairlington. All reserved except for Utah Park which is now a de facto dog exercise area. I am not about to walk in Utah Park again, let along picnic there. Just so you know what's in store for EFC.
Wait until you see the Aquatic Center - it will berun by and for the wealthy pool clubs, paid for by taxpayers.
A lighted synthetic playing field cost $1 million and the synthetic surface must be replaced approximately every 8 years.
Open space...what open space? You must mean the 3 park benches the REITs place on the sidewalk next to their buildings.
Please do a thread about maintenance costs of all the new and renovated public infrastructure - which will drive us bankrupt.
WHY are taxpayers subsidizing the sports teams of mediocre private schools and building more sports infrastructure for high schools like Wakefield that have serious academic defieiencies?
