Hi Yupette,
Did you see the citizen comments at the beginning of yesterday's County Board meeting? The County Board was criticized by ordinary citizens not connected to the Republicratic Machine for lies and dishonesty related to public library funding, EFC redevelopment, and the County's traffic calming charades.
Thanks for this blog. The view in my neighborhood is that it's time for a change - starting by voting out Zimmerman and Baird on November 2nd.

Time for all of them - School Board and County Board to go - they're resorting to flat-out lies to stay in power.
The guy from EFC got it right - EFC re-development is a "dog and pony show". Too bad citizens can't see the constant stream of developers and lawyers going in and out of the County Board offices. That's who the County Board listens to, not citizens, voters, taxpayers.

They're dishonest about everything - from library hours to site plans. Time to replace them all with people who care.
So if they aren't honest about important stuff like school overcrowding concomitant with EFC redevelopment now, how much truth can we expect from them a year from now?
County Board members are all getting paid off, one way or another, by the REITs, developers, special interests, etc.
Based on Zimmerman's EFC Ward-Heeler-in-Chief Mike Nardolilli's antics (so far) regarding EFC re-development I will never give a dime to his charade organization - the Northern Virginia Conservation Trust aka the Northern Virginia REIT Enrichment Trust.
If they get voted out of power they won't receive cash pay offs from developers, so of course they'll do anything to stay in power.
$#!+, if they can't be honest about little things like library hours, how can you expect them to be honest about important things?
Zimmerman, Favola, and Tejada could not lead their upscale lives without 'gratuities' from developers. Neither could a dozen people who serve on the Planning Commission, Housing Commission, and Transportation Commission.
They don't care - Commonwealth's Attorney's Office is in the developers' pockets too.
Old D.C. Joke:
What's the difference between Republican and Democratic elected officials?
Democrats receive their cash pay offs on the front porch at Midnight wrapped in the Washington Post.
Republicans receive their cash pay offs wrapped in the Washington Times.
Hi LOL,
When my father told me that joke (circa 1955) the Republicans were receiving their cash payoffs wrapped in the Washington Star.

I've often wondered what unmarked Arlington County Sheriff's Crown Victoria vehicles are doing in Douglas Park late in the Evening.
Too bad Cooch is such a Pro-Life nut case. He could easily have them all milking cows on the state penitentiary farm instead of continuing to bilk Arlington taxpayers.
Based upon what the citizens said during public comments last Saturday the Arlington County Board is nothing but a pack of corrupt scoundrels.
So called Arlington 'Law Enforcement' are in reality Kingpins of Kounty Korruption. In case you wondered why so many minority group members left the Kounty the past few years only half of that was because of Gentrification.
F-ing Zimmerman and Fisette got nailed like two slimy rats regarding their multi-million traffic calming scam. I loved it. In case you didn't see it it was the good government activist's comments about consent agenda item 35, Pershing Drive future mega-million buck traffic calming project.
I would live to see a thread about whether Barbara Donnellan or Diana Sun is the County Board's biggest Hoe.
I'll bet the Sun Gazette will endorse Sally Baird. McCaffrey can't say no to the GLBT lobby.
Speaking of REIT enrichment, that's on the agenda at Tuesday night's continued County Board meeting. Along with setting up a tax district like the Rosslyn BID for Crystal City, Pentagon City, and Potomac Yards to fund their favorite Artisphere-type vanity projects.
Kevin Chisholm shows up at meetings, saw him at the energy meeting last week. Anyone seen Mark Kelly lately?
Newspapers have to make their quarterly target, 30% after-tax profit. They are no longer independent but owned by corporations, wealthy plutocrats, and hedge funds. So they can't risk offending anyone.
Pershing Drive - a couple of 30 mph speed limit signs that motorists can't see get replaced by a couple of 25 mph speed limit signs that motorists can't see. Prelude to $2 million in "traffic calming" for Pershing Drive.
I read this blog occasionally and also read the Sun Gazette blog occasionally. I'll tell you where McCaffrey appears to coming from. He has the same views as myself and other Log Cabin Republicans about many issues. So I am not surprised he doesn't like the Green Party, loves the theater, is on the Chamber of Commerce's Board of Directors, and so on.
Cindy, McCaffrey endorsed Baird after giving a laundry list of reasons why he should not endorse Baird.
McCaffrey's endorsements are totally consistent with his personal biases and conflicts of interest.
Scott was told by the GLBT community to endorse Sally "or else".
Yeah, the 'or else' being the GLBT community would stop advertising in the Sun Gazette.
So, like the Post's endorsement of Fenty, McCaffrey's endorsement of Baird is based on economic self interest?
Could be worse, SG's parent company told Scotty to knock off the name calling and stop using surrogates to make personal attacks. In other words, stop acting like the editor of a middle school newspaper and start acting like the editor of a high school newspaper.
Scott's animosity towards the Green Party is well-known within the Sun Gazette organization.
