Time for Mandatory Telecommuting for Non-Sensitive Employment?
Is it time for mandatory telecommuting for persons who aren't involved in working with national security or law enforcement organizations? Your thoughts. A.Y.

Telecommuting? That would be too easy. Plus, the Yups couldn't drive one per SUV to work from Spotsylvania County.
I would LOVE to telecommute. Most of my work day at the Labor Department involves attending unproductive meetings. I am getting so much accomplished being at home this week and working via the Internet.
Bubba from Spotsylvania believes it's his God-given right to drive his $50,000 SUV to his job working for a beltway bandit in Pentagon City. Arlington County provided him with a parking space via the site plan for Bubba's office building which included a 300 vehicle parking garage.
I got by real well stocking up on the staples and telecommuting. I also had an emergency generator installed for power outages. Thankfully there were none. Telecommuting should be the main priority for traffic mitigation in the region.

I could work 2 days / week at home if it weren't for meetings. I'm all for it.
Auto Dealers, Sprawl Developers, Restaurant Industry would oppose.
If you are 40 something and kids aren't around telecommuting is great.
Time to get the National Guard here equipped with heavy construction equipment (front loaders and dump trucks to take removed snow to the Potomac).

Yes, please. One day a week mandatory telecommuting for people who are not in sensitive positions or have distractions at home.
Hi Yupette,
I have non-perishable stuff delivered by the supermarket and only have to shop once a week for the perishable stuff.

My employer just asked who wants to telecommute 1 day a week. I'm going to do it. No distractions at home.
If nothing else is done about traffic mitigation....start a major-league telecommuting program for the region.
