Writing to County Board Chairman Jay Fisette on January 7th, Arlington Green Party Chairman John Reeder asked for inclusion of a Green Party representative on the County's environmental task force. Reeder also stated that the taskforce is "disproportionately composed of representatives of fossil fuel companies and associations."

Yes, there is only one person who is employed by the renewable energy industry on the task force.
Something should be done to rescind the LEED Charade System of Environmental Gimmicks as a measure of "Energy Efficiency".
What is it with Fisette? This guy overtly and blantly uses county government for his own purposes. He should be a lobbyist for live theater, dog parks, gay and lesbian issues, and aquatic centers. Time for him to GTFO of Arlington.
The County Board is controlled by the Arlington Chamber of Commerce which is controlled by corporations and non-profits that want more of the status quo, no matter what the economic and environmental consequences.
It's OK to have a polluting coal-fired power plant just across Four Mile Run from Arlington but it's not OK to place renewable energy on the roofs of buildings under construction just across Four Mile Run from the power plant in Arlington.
Dempublicans ignore anyone and everyone who fails to totally conform. I doubt John Reeder will even receive an acknowledgement of his letter to Fisette.
Seen the new Jim Mayer Memorial Environmental Energy Center at Potomac Overlook Park? Funded by fossil fuel corporations. No renewable energy.
County's Web site didn't mention today's environmental task force meeting. Why did I have to call the County Board offices to determine that the meeting was held at 10 AM at the Central Library?
Fisette received 2/3 of the vote in November, so he feels comfortable ignoring anyone and anything that doesn't conform to his personal agenda.
You hit the nail right on the head Joan.
Fi$ette claimed he appointed 3 renewable energy experts to his environmetal commission. One is for real. The other two are McMansion builders who are friends of Jay and Ron.
