Cultural Center's Wealthy Elites Will Require Major Taxpayer Subsidies

According to the County Staff Report and consultant Webb Management's report attached to the Cultural Center agenda (item #52 on the County Board's agenda for July 14th) Arlington taxpayers will directly pay from $3.1 million to $4.7 million between FY2010 and FY2014 to subsidize the Cultural Center. Webb Management's report indicates that the Cultural Center may not be able to raise more than $300,000 per year through fund raising. The Board of Advisors (primary decision makers) for the Cultural Center will consist of representatives from wealthy corporations, and wealthy individuals.

Wealthy corporations? Try Boeing and Vornado Realty. Wealthy individuals? Try the mega-millionaires on the Boards of Classika-Synetic and Washington Shakespeare Company and the richey riches who live in the new $3 million and older $1.5 million condos in Rosslyn.

Where the hell is the philanthropy in Northern Virginia? These live theater groups are RICH PIGS always looking to government for a handout.

Jay Fisette is a total conflict of interest public assistance for the wealthy slime ball and should be tossed off the County Board for incompetence and corruption.

The motto of Arlington County should be "From the Needy to the Greedy."

Wait until you see how Zimmerman, Favola, and Fisette "Clarendon" the Pike, including the City of Falls Church.

Of course their "Little Puto" Jose' Tejada goes right along.

Their "Big Putos" are Scott McCaffrey, Editor of the Arlington Sun Gazette, and Nick Benton, Publisher-Editor of the Falls Church News-Press.

These A$$HOLES are helping Zimmerman, Favola, and Fisette destroy every residential middle class community and every small business between Spout Run Parkway in Arlington and the City of Fairfax along Lee Hwy and every small business and middle class residential neighborhood between Washington Boulevard in Arlington and the City of Fairax along Columbia Pike.

But, what can yoiu expect from Club Hedo YuPigs?

How about the Post? Nothing said about the Wash Post Corporation's PR Director pushing the Rosslyn Cultural Center as board member of the Classika-Synetic. And keeping the controversy surrounding the welfare-fo-the-wealthy give away out of the Post.

You mean Senor "Nada" Tejada? Every time there is a proposal for more gentrification on the Pike he seconds the motion.

Worst of all is Zimmerman. Increasingly nasty and wants to gentrify out everyone in the middle class and fill Arlington with expensive post modernist buildings and expensive light rail everywhere.

Jerry Auten (who has some very valid concerns about the gentrification of Lee Hwy at the FC border) was treated rudely by Zimmerman at Saturday's CB meeting. Zimmerman should go back to New York where he came from and do his Rockefeller Republican mega-builder elitist garbage there.

Yupette, McCaffrey gave the County a thumbs down for the massive PR boosting the Cultural Center giveaway to the wealthy live theater elitists.

Want to know what the massive County PR campaign orchestrated in the County Manager's Office boosting the Elitist Cultural Center give-away is costing taxpayers? Well, the average cost per employee in the County Manager's Office is $145,000 / year. And there are 14 employees doing PR in the County Manager's Office.

Yupette, Fisette promised a live theater would be constructed when the area of Lee Hwy at the Falls Church border near the East Falls Church Metro station is redeveloped.

Where is the philanthropy? They have promised two heritage centers and two more live theaters and an aquatics center. Speaking of the aquatics center dio you know how many exclusive pool clubs there are in and around Arlington? Can't they build all-weather pools for their members?

Yupette, there are already 3 Shakespeare Theaters within about 3 miles of each other.

Also, the State Theater is 1/2 mile from where Fisette wants to put a live theater on Lee Highway at the Arlington - Falls Church border.

How about Fire / EMS response time? Another County Manager charade. If a responding unit gets stuck in traffic for 10 minutes it isn't averaged in.

We badly need mew fire and EMS stations & units. The funding is going for parks, recreation, & entertainment.

Hi, Yupette,

Did you know that the County Board's biggest Republican Nanny Nancy cheerleader for turning Arlington into Planet Zimmy has 30 potholes on her Fairlington street?

Anonymous said...

No. Really? The Nanny Nancy who's helping Chris Zimmerman yuppify Arlington County into Planet Zimmy couldn't be related to the Nancy Hunt who lives on South 28th Street in Fairlington, could she?

Where is all the philanthropy? There's a million bucks spent here and a million bucks spent there. Mostly on social welfare programs with big administrative costs.

Speaking of administrative costs, it appears that there would be 10 people in administration for every person who appears on stage in the Rosslyn Cultural Center.

I want to kniw how much the County's PR Office and AVN are going to be involved in supporting the Cultural center. And how much that will cost.

State Theater is for live bands. We want a live theater for plays at East Falls Church Metro.

Jay Fisette has already promised it will happen.
