Hi Yupette,
I worked the polls yesterday. What Yupette blogs about one party government in Arlington is true. Based on the behavior of the people from the two major parties that were interacting with voters I would say we definitely have one-party government in Arlington - the Yupublicratic Party. Anyone have a different perspective?

Yes, it was disgusting to see how they shmoozed with each other.
Time for a Progressive Caucus (not a party) that will ONLY support Progressive candidates, not Republicrats.
Slightly off the topic, did you see there is a new Web site named arlingtonyuppie dot com?
Hi Yupette,
A decade ago an ACDC Chairman told me: "As long as we (Democrats) receive at least 60% of the vote nothing will change in Arlington."
Reeder received 32% of the vote. But 40% of Arlington's voters are Republicans. So, yeah, there is 1-party rule in Arlington. Look who gets appointed to important positions on the Planning Commission and similar advisory bodies. Not Progressives.
The Dems and Repubs standing outside the polling places spent more time talking to each other than to voters.
