What do you think? Are the County Board's de facto infrastructure priorities art, entertainment, and recreation?

What about the Cherrydale Fire Station? This ongoing Arlington Yuppie Board fiasco is going to cost the taxpayers more than $20 million. What's going on with Ed Peete's stalled development and Koons Toyota nearby? Is the $$$ billionaire Koons family receiving corporate welfare from Arlington taxpayers? Is the County going to bail out Ed Peete?
Another fiscal fiasco brought to you by Arlington's Republicrats. Another chapter in the next John Antonelli - Karen Murray "Jane Barcroft" novel slandering the Green and Independent activists who oppose such mismanagement.
I would like to know why in this county of "Environmentalism" there are almost zero solar power generators and hot water heating panels installed on homes and buildings. Especially public buildings.
Arlington Republicrats, status quo media executives (e.g., Scott McCaffrey), and turkeys like Antonelli and Atkins absolutely LOVE the status quo. It is so much more profitable and fun to publicly defend and attack the status quo than enable positive changes to happen.
How about other mismanaged projects? Like the bus transfer station in Shirlington. Rumored to have cost over $5 million. And the Shirlington and Westover libraries. I don't like to think about what an aquatic complex in the North Tract would cost before it's completed. Maybe $200 million?
The people who most want the aquatic complex already belong to the exclusive swim clubs. Why don't the swim clubs build several year-around pools? The North Tract aquatic complex would be run like a private swim club, and constructed with tax dollars.
By the way, where is the money going to come from in 20 years to provide major maintenance and renovations to a greatly increased public infrastructure?
I support and am volunteering for John Reeder's County Board campaign. Go John !!
How much will the forthcoming bail out of Ed Peete (Bromptons) cost Arlington taxpayers? Put the blame for the Cherrydale fire station fiasco where it belongs - Barbara Favola.
Next Yupublicrat project will be the gentrification of Barcroft Apartments, the last large affordable housing complex in Arlington. Projected use of public funds would be $50 to $100 million. Chris Zimmerman can hardly wait.
How about the Arlington's arts community? Like the swimming crowd, the arts crowd is loaded with $$$$ dough. Yet they are always looking for handouts from Arlington taxpayers. The Yupubicrat County Board is all to happy to oblige.
Meanwhile, our streets need repaving and our street lighting is worse than terrible.
Are you outraged by the corporate welfare package the billionares in the Koons Family are receiving from Barbara Favola? I am. This is supposed to be a VOLUNTEER fire department? Where is the volunteering? Where is the giving back to the community by Koons Toyota? Where is the local media - Sun Gazette? Where are the Cherrydale and upscale 22207 neighborhoods served by the Cherrydale Volunteer Fire Company? Where are the so-called "community leaders?" Where are the Republicans when they aren't starting and circulating rumors about Green activists?
If ever there was a reason to vote out the incumbent, Barbara Favola, this is it. John Reeder for Arlington Countyu Board !
A.Y., all Arlington Republicans are not control freaks and rumor mongers like Nanny Nancy Hunt. We would like to balance environmental needs with the need for well-planned growth.
However, growth is not planned in Arlington. That's why THIS Republican is voting for John Reeder for County Board.

The Cherrydale Fire Station is a total bi-partisan planning disaster. I estimate the final cost will be over $30 million.

Solar energy is contrary to the Arlington Yuppie Way which means bigger SUVs, larger McMansions, and more energy guzzling commercial buildings.
If you are concerned about the long-time mismanagement of Arlington, work for John Reeder for County Board. He needs lots of volunteers...right now.

I don't think John Antonelli wrote that book, not his style. Keep up the good work Arlington Yupette.
Books were a joint venture of John Antonelli and Karen Murray.

Want to know what other major Toyota dealers are doing for their communities?
They are upgrading factory Priuses and hybrid Camrys to plug-in capability by installing additional after-market battery packs.
They are not only donating but upgrading SUVs and large pick up trucks for search and rescue and fire department / EMS use.
There is almost zero community sharing in Arlington. Our taxes go for corporate welfare and vanity projects while our streets crumble.

Another topic? Yuppie dog owners.
