County Board Adds Smart Growth Facilitation Boosters

Hey, Yupette,

Thanks for keeping us posted about Chris Zimmerman's Smart Growth America antics. But it gets worse. The County Board just again enlarged the County's Smart Growth Facilitation Team. Arlington now has a Resident Ombudsman and a Director of Public Engagement. Two more VIP bureaucrats who will give you the run-around when you ask them when your crumbling street gets repaved. How much do all the new Deputy County Managers and other County Staff get paid to cater to the wants of the tear-down developers? Know what all these fat cat bureaucrats are? People who are past-due for retirement (like County Manager Schwartz) but are promoted because they're loyal Democrat Smart Growth boosters. Oh, they either don't live in Arlington or live in an Arlington neighborhood that's exempt from Smart Growth. Like the developers they cater to. My taxes keep going up and up. For what? Why don't the developers pay their servants on the County's payroll? Thanks again for this blog.

See the Smart Growth Facilitation Team in action tonight at the Lee Highway mixed-use gentrification meeting at the Langston-Brown Community Center.

Mark Schwartz and Victor Hoskins should join Zimmy at Smart Growth America. Their skills are desparately needed to mixed-use gentrify the working class and middle class out of Baltimore, Wilmington, Philadelphia, and New York.

County Manager and Deputy County Managers are beyond retirement age. All these promotions have nothing to do with better governance and everything to do with more tear-down in-fill gentrification.

The $40 million swimming pool has higher priority.

Meanwhile political and economic refugees are flooding the U.S. borders. County Board and School Board are completely irresponsible for not even bothering to estimate the costs the County will incur providing thousands more migrants with basic needs.

I am fed up with Smart Growth to the point I and my neighbors want to sponsor a 5K or 10K event in Ashton Heights every weekend. Starting line in front of Mark Schwartz's home. Finish line in front of Jay Fisette's home. Food trucks parked in front of the Ashton Heights Yellow Dog Democrats who go around inflicting Smart Growth on everyone else.

So many senior managers in County Government are over 55 and were doing little or nothing except the same-old same-old for years before being promoted to Deputy County Manager.

Save some Latino-Latina owned food trucks for the startng line and finish line of the Ashton Heights 'complete streets' events.

Earth to County Board and School Board: Figure out how many more refugee families are going to be resettled in Arlington before you spend any more money on big-ticket sports and recreation infrastructure.

County Board approved almost $12 million to repave Arlington's crumbling streets, roads, and trails this year. But Washington Boulevard, alone, between Route 50 and Glebe Road will cost $12 million to repave. Any State highway funding available?

In two years the County Board has "progressed" from $1 million bus shelters to $500,000 bus shelters and from an $85 million Aquatic Center to a $40 million swimming pool.

How and why did the County Board hire, and immediately promote, Carole Mitten, former Mayor of Dupont Circle, to be a Deputy County Manager in Arlington?

Millions of 'migrants' streaming across our borders who WE will have to pay to house, clothe, educate, etc.? First Yuppie Obama's parting gift to the down-and-out American middle class. Only brain-dead Limo Liberals, like Hillary, keep on wanting the the USA to do this, year after year, decade after decade.

Love those Migrants. Bring on more slave wage domestic labor, subsidized by what remains of America's middle class.

The County will spend $12 million for street repaving this year? Just repaving Washington Blvd. between Route 50 and Glebe Road will cost $12 million.

Tell the pols at the next public meeting you attend to PAVE OUR STREETS FIRST !! Not spend $20 million for a gondola, $40 million for a swimming pool, $200 million for a convention center.

Someone should take a survey of Washington Post VIPs to determine how little they pay recent migrants to clean their upscale homes on Notthwest DC, Bethesda, and Chevy Chase.

Can someone tell me about the logistics required to sponsor a 5K race every weekend in Ashton Heights beginning at Mark Shwartz's home at 7 AM and ending at Jay Fisette's home at 9 AM?

Sign me up. I am sick and tired of our neighborhood parks being "re-purposed" to benefit the bottom lines of the New Urbanist Democrat developers.
