Wa$h Po$t Going Away Gift to Alexandria: Mega-Development of the Waterfront

Hey, Yupette,

News from Alexandria is that mega-infill is going ahead on the waterfront and the Washington Post Corporation announced it sold Robinson Terminal to JBG and EYA, to be developed into a waterfront hotel, luxury housing, and other yupscale residential and commercial. Alexandria's First Developer, Mayor Euille, was elated of course. Who cares if there's already a Tysons-on-the-Potomac at National Harbor? Not Bill Euille and his corporate cronies.

A big going away gift from the Washington Post Corporation, which will shortly change it's name to -- what? --- and  get out of the newspaper business. Post Corporation that funds its money-losing newspaper with profits from its Kaplan "fleece the sheeple" educational subsidiary, re-elects Don Graham's pet incumbents based on endorsements written by summer interns, and never saw an African American who wasn't in some way dysfunctional. Can Jeff Bezos do worse as the Post media owner? Stay tuned.

You forgot Don Graham's jihad against Vince Gray because Vince Gray halted the massive gentrification of African Americans out of the District.

Don Graham is a chamber of commerce republican; Jeff Bezos is a pave paradise libertarian.

You forgot Don Graham's recent jihad against the living wage legislation in DC.

Did the Wash Post Company ever do anything in all the years it owned Robinson Terminal to improve the appearance?

Short answer...No.

Hey, y-all, does anyone know who the Arlington Sun Fisette will endorse for Arlington County Board? Just wondering.

Is the Pope a Catholic? Does a bear $#!+ in the woods? Why would $ara$ota $cott McCaffrey NOT endorse Jay Fi$ette?

With Bezos as owner the Post will promote libertarian ideology rather than chamber of commerce - country club republicanism.

Looks like Kaplan U. is headed for a Bowl game again -- the Drop Out's Loan Default Bowl.

So Jeff Bezos is a Libertarian and working in an Amazon 'fufillment center' is like being an inmate in a minimum security correctional facility. What can that mean for the Post's newspaper employees?

Bezos moves the Post newspaper and newsblogs to the Amazon fufillment center campus in South Bumpass VA?

How many more weeks of anti-gun diatribes before the Post starts featuring gun shows as a wholesome family activity?

Bill Euille is killing the City of Alexandria as a place to live, work, visit.

MegaDevelopment of the Waterfront into a MegaMarina? Can a MegaYacht for Bezos be far behind?

I read the Post's feature last Sunday about Don Graham. His get up and go got up and left about the time the Internet got going 15 years ago.

Bill Euille HAS killed Alexandria as a place to live, work, visit.

Starting about a year ago, it became increasingly difficult to find a printed copy of the Post for sale at convenience stores, and other retail outlets. Also in some vending boxes.

So was the Graham family interested enough to print more copies of the Post? Appears not.

Don Graham appears to have had the same level of interest in the Post as a fork lift operator at Robinson Terminal. He even looks like a fork lift operator at Robinson Terminal.

Don Graham looks like a Garrison Keillor impersonator. He's about as full of $#!+ as Garrison.

Graham Family has more to worry about now. Student loan defaults are way up and the Feds are going to come down hard on for-profit higher 'education'.

Bezos is going to make the Post profitable by inundating anyone who signs up to read the on-line version with advertising. What remains of the print version will be like the worst of the local papers, advertising interspersed with news items written by stringers and features taken from syndicated sources.

Jeff Bezos will throw money at the Post, for awhile.

Won't be long now. Bezos is taking over when? This week? Next week?

Next time the Feds go after the for profit colleges the Graham Family won't get to use the dirt they have their reporters dig up against people who don't go along with the Post's program.
