Bondi Hit With Big IRS Tax Lien

Hi Yupette,

I was researching some land records in Paulie Ferguson's office last week when an acquaintance who works for Paulie asked me if I was aware that Zimmy's heir-apparent - Melissa Bondi - was hit with a huge lien against her home ($19,252.23 to be exact) by the IRS last March 29th.

Very interesting. Didn't Paulie Ferguson endorse Melissa, along with Zimmy and Walter Tejada? What's THIS all about? Sheesh.

Ken

Failure to register Bondi's "consulting" business also means failure to pay business personal property tax, business license, and failure to seek zoning approval for home business (e.g., an on-line form that can be used by self-employed such as attorneys, sales persons, consultants, etc.).

Bondi wants to lord over the little people with her self-proclaimed brilliance, but all the while failing to follow basic rules imposed on everyone else in Arlington.

The failure to complete college raises also a lot of red flags when viewed in combination with the failure to pay taxes, register her car, etc. It suggests an inability to follow-through, an inability to reason, etc. Completing college is not impossible -- especially in this area with good community colleges. Given that she dropped out of college in 1992, there has been plenty of time to finish.

Thank you to the good folks who uncovered this fraud and sham of a candidate. You are heroes, and deserve a medal for potentially saving us from yet another "permanent" imperialistic ruler with a "let them eat cake" attitude.

Every single Arlingtonian who hears this story and is already disgusted with the manner in which the Arlington County Board has mowed over community after community in pursuit of personal ideologues and agendas should make every effort to encourage their friends, neighbors and acquaintances to turn out and vote for "ANYBODY BUT BONDI".

The facts of this story are outrageous and her lies are worse. Together they are the epitome of blatant arrogance. It appears that Ms. Bondi feels she is "above it all", that the rules don't apply to her and that if caught, she can lie her way out of it because just like her benefactors on the County Board, she thinks Arlingtonians are SHEEP and too stupid to figure it out or too complacent to stand up for what is right.

Seriously? Does she really think that a line (actually more than one) hasn't been crossed here? Does she truly believe that the hard working people who do follow the rules will swallow her myths whole or that long-standing supporters of the Democratic Party will ignore her misdeeds and lies simply because they are afraid of retribution from ACDC and Chris Zimmerman? If that turns out to be the case, you have to ask: "So who are the real sheep now?"

Arlingtonians who are "in the know" and value and respect a true democratic process need to dedicate themselves to keeping this story ALIVE. They need to write letters, make phone calls and encourage the local media (print, radio and TV) to not let up, to dig deeper -- get to the heart of the matter so that innocent voters who are "in the know" can't be duped by this fraud nor the "ruling elite" who have handpicked Bondi to be their new rubber stamp on the County Board.

The people of Arlington deserve better and clearly ANYBODY BUT BAAAAA-BAAAA BONDI would be.

What do Zimmerman, Bondi, and the 'Smart Growth' New Urbanists want? They want residents to own an expensive vehicle and drive it to the supermarket. Store the vehicle in an underground garage below one's luxury condo. Ride a bicycle or a streetcar otherwise.

They want non-residents to be able to drive to and from Arlington, one to a vehicle. No matter how much traffic congestion that causes in Arlington. Don't believe it? Check out the 'planning' for Shirlington, the Pike, Crystal City, East Falls Church, Clarendon, etc.

Bondi owns a house in Ohio, in the town where she grew up. Google it, and you'll find it. So she lied about not owning a home, and she misleads us by saying she is carfree. She drives someone else's car. In Ferguson's defense, as the head of the department, he can't know all the transactions that pass through that office. On the other hand, he could have checked with the tax office to make sure she was "clean". A late payment is a permanent record.

I'm glad she has the bloggers and others to blame for all of her problems. This enables her to avoid responsibility for her own actions. She will fit in well on the county board. With the proper spin she could actually convince voters that we owe her the job. Then she can vote herself a pay raise to pay off her debt to the IRS. I wonder how many other years the IRS is trying to resolve. I hope she's not paying her tax advisor by the hour. He's going to be busy for a long time.

Time for Chris 'Mubarak' Zimmerman to resign from the County Board and work as a lobbyist for the REITs.

Bondi 's strategy is to stall for time while they find more voters that haven't heard anything on this yet. Just like jury selection.

If Zimmerman resign CB to become REIT lobbyist that means atleast he gets to keep at one of his two jobs.

Yupette, I support a family of five, pay all my taxes on time (including self-employment tax on income for second job). What goes here with the idea that Melissa Bondi is a leader we can't do without? I thought the Dems say they elect candidates who reflect Arlington values.

So the chair of ACDC has represented clients charged with tax evasion? Well, Ms Bondi is adept at picking friends. She has a tax advisor, a lawyer, and supporters willing to stand out in the cold talking to voters and cover for the consequences of her habitual lying.

At 15 January, 2012 , Anonymous terri said...

She is 'hiring a tax advisor', whatever that means. She is angry at this and other blogs. What does that mean? Means to me that she's furious her behavior was exposed. She's a female Marion Barry. The blogs that accept paid advertising are accepting her excuses and lies. Editor of the Sun Gazette suddenly went on vacation. Her campaign is telling Independents and Republicans to vote for her. A young Marion Barry clone on the County Board? Think about it.

Something else that's really strange. She dropped out (or flunked out) of the University of Rochester and she stated she was a Physics major. This is a university that sends it's Physics graduates on to Los Alamos or on to Princeton and Caltech for graduate school.

McCaffrey is part of an incredibly arrogant Democratic Machine. Another part is the arrogant county staff who are apparently employed to give citizens the run-around.

I, and other parents, have been trying to get an air quality assessment for Long Bridge Park (see the posting below this one on A.Y.). The County Board simply refuses. So does the School Board....and Libby Garvey was also asked directly.

They spent $35 million on landscaping and toxic soil remediation. And didn't bother checking the air quality? Only response of the parks and rec staff is --- don't worry, be happy. Not surprising. They live in Prince William County.

AY, good job on outing Bondi but there is more to the story. I am talkign felonies

See Below

http://boe.cuyahogacounty.us/pdf_boe/en-US/2011/Cancellation_All_ByCityWard.txt

Bondi come s off the OHIO voter rolls in 2011. BUT she has voted in Arlington and COLLECTED signatures in Arlington for several years. The last as you know from the change of government fiasco is a felony. I think Melissa looks good in stripes.

At 16 January, 2012 , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Greater Greater Washington has endorsed Bondi. Fairly comical, actually.

At 16 January, 2012 , Anonymous Anonymous said...

So she voted in both Arlington and Ohio elections for several years? I know a bunch of people who own winter homes in Florida and summer homes in the NE have historically pulled that stunt.

At 16 January, 2012 , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Are you suggesting voting fraud is common and that makes it ok? People went to jail over the change of government petition drive. I don't know if Bondi is guilty of voting in multiple jurisdictions, but someone should look into it. It would clear her name of this latest allegation.

Can someone call the Cuyahoga County Auditor's office today? Determine whether she was/is in arrears on real estate taxes and has/had a lien or liens on the home she owns, apparently given to her by her father?

If you visit zillow.com and enter the property address you will see a photo of the house, it's on a corner lot. This is apparently the home Melissa grew up in, suburban neighborhood. What is commonly referred by Melissa's friends in Arlington as a 'tear down opportunity'.

At 17 January, 2012 , Anonymous Anonymous said...

If she voted in both Ohio and Arlington (in-person and absentee) that would be pretty serious, especially if it were in a national election, e.g., 2008. But people who own property in two different political jurisdictions do that all the time, also fill out a census form for their vacation home on Lake Anna and suburban home in Arlington, also use the address of a rental property they own in Arlington as their "legal residence" in order to continue to enroll their kids in the Arlington school system.

I hope the dem party faithful are pleased that in their determination to support Bondi no matter what information has come out they have opened the door wide for the republicans to provide an alternative - something that likely would not have happened if Bondi had just pulled out. When Mark Kelly wins, he can thank the democrats for their blind support of Ms. Bondi -- along with community oppostion to backyard chickens and the avian flu they can spread!!!

I'm no election lawyer Yupette, but it appears that by voting in Ohio she is declaring out-of-state residency. Virginia law requires that candidates for local office be residents of the Commonwealth and be eligible to vote in Virginia. As recently as last week, Virginia election law residency requirements were affirmed by the Court of Appeals down in Richmond. I think you have exposed a case here of a spider catching herself in her own web.

Melissa Bondi announced for County Board on November 10, 2011

At 18 January, 2012 , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Melissa Bondi filed with the Arlington voter registrar a month before that, so she could fundraise, and get loans from other elected officials campaigns. The push was to get her organization geared up before the current vacancy opened up on the county board and appear to be the front runner.

At 18 January, 2012 , Anonymous Tom said...

You have to be a Virginia resident to file for public office in Virginia. How can you be a Virginia resident and vote in Ohio after you file to run for public office in Virginia?

I guess Attorney General Cuccinelli will have to sort it all out ;-]

At 18 January, 2012 , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Cuccinelli should investigate the entire Democratic caucus system where surrogate voting is so common it's like 5-0 voting on the County Board.

Surrogate voting? You mean you vote on Thursday and vote again on Saturday for your good Democratic friend who's on vacation in Florida? It's a longstanding Democratic Tradition that's part of the Arlington Way.
