It will be even worse next year. The County Board will make major cuts in important programs to keep pet vanity projects fully funded.

Question for Barbara Donnellan: How far were you into the planning for the Pike Trolley and Cultural Center when you realized there would be a whopping budget deficit in FY 11?

Attended the CivFed meeting. More BS about the 2011 Budget from County Government, the Civfed. the Media. What else is new?

CivFed and Civic Associations can't get the potholes in their own streets repaired. What CAN they do? Start malicious rumors about anyone who tries to have the County's Public Works Dept. fill potholes in his/her street.

What did you expect from Barbara Donnellan?

Civic Federation meeting, same old BS. Fairgrrl, the Andy Griffith Show "Fairlington is Mayberry" re-enactors aka small town gossips and ward heelers showed up and talked their trash.

Where was "Aunt Bea"?

Charade is correct. Barbara Donnellan said that "everything is on the table." Right. LOL.

Aunt Bea and Barney were investigating a rumor that a neighborhood "troublemaker" from Fairlington who does not go along with the civic association's agenda was seen with a woman who is not his spouse.

Let's see, North Tract planning, Four Mile Run waterpark planning, trolley planning, cultural center construction, gold-plating W-L high school, county board salaries and benefits, spending $300,000 to $500,000 for each unit of "affordable" housing, bloated county public information bureaucracy, what else have I left out? All "off the table."

Time for Zimmerman to retire from the County Board. Followed by Favola and Fisette. Thanks to their "planning" and "leadership" the County has been able to balance a budget one year out of the last ten without raising taxes.

Only 4 months ago they out and out lied about the County's fiscal situation to fund the Cultural Center. Pretty pathetic, and so it's time for them to leave.

Now we hear that the County will go forward with Zimmerman's Pike trolley but will delay the implementation of new ART Bus service. Charade is exactly right.

Hi Yupette,

Do citizens get to ask Barbara Donnellan questions on Tuesday? Or will it be a forum with the County Board's designated spokespersons doing all the talking?

The school system just hosted a seminar for high school students about money management and budgeting. How about a thread?

Allegedly, citizens will be able to ask questions.
