My Choice for County Board - Elect an Eagle

Dear Yupette,

We have a choice tomorrow. Elect an Eagle, or elect more Turkeys.

No choice for me. I'm voting to elect an Eagle  - Audrey Clement. Audrey has never been out for herself, she's always trying to make life better for the rest of us.

It's obvious from delving into the personal ambitions of Katie Cristol, Christian Dorsey, and Mike McMenamin that they will be all-out to enrich themselves if elected to County Board. Katie Cristol will enrich herself through education consulting. Christian Dorsey will enrich himself through affordable housing. Mike McMenamin will enrich himself through his wireless law firm.

All will say YES to any number of for-profits and non-profits looking for taxpayer-funded handouts from County Government. Same old. Same old.

I'm 60 years old, and will retire soon, and can't afford to elect any more of these selfish turkeys to the County Board.

Audrey Clement is an Eagle who has my vote. She should have yours also.

Peggy, Westover

YES! Thank You Peggy!

I will also vote for Audrey. We are finally getting our streets re-paved thanks to Audrey's repeatedly raising this issue in her campaign literature and at candidate forums.

Now that their big ticket vanity projects have been cancelled there's finally money available for street paving. Go Audrey !

McMenamin and Clement are getting trounced...20% and 10% respectively with 85% of precincts in. Fairlington precinct was a solid lock for Dorsey and Cristol. Abingdon will likely be same...

Only what can be expected when candidates make expensive campaign promises which taxpayers will have to pay for.

Only what can be expected when Independents vote with tax-borrow-spend Liberals and endorse tax-borrow-spend Liberals.

Wouldn't YOU vote for candidates (Dorsey and Cristol) who promised Taj Mahal public schools for your kids and affordable apartments for your kids after they graduated from college?

Sheesh...who was / were giving Vihstadt and McMenamin campaign advice? Last campaign postcard I received from McMenamin's campaign appeared to be an endorsement for Dorsey and Cristol.

Affordable housing insanity will take over where the streetcar insanity left off.

I thought McMenamim was a lock :(

Streets are being repaved because the money for repaving comes from bond funds that can't be used for any other purpose.

I voted for Audrey. The C.B. campaign became dumber and dumber. Cristol and Dorsey increasingly pandering to special interests in return for votes and so-called Independents were increasingly pandering to Cristol and Dorsey.

Peggy, check out places to retire that are at least 100 miles from any "Smart Growth".

Why did McMenamin lose? Because John Vihstadt has voted like Chris Zimmerman on the County Board for the past 18 months. Because John Vihstadt endorsed Dorsey. Because the Arlington Republican Party and McMenamin didn't keep the Independent coalition from last year going. Because McMenamin mailed out a last-minute 8 x 10 postcard that appeared to endorse Cristol and Dorsey. Because the pro Smart Growth local media want more Smart Growth, especially when, as non-residents, they don't have to pay for what that costs. Because Cristol and Dorsey pledged massive amounts will be spent for affordable housing, schools, and vanity projects and programs to benefit special interests.

The tax-borrow-spend ZimmerCrats (Cristol and Dorsey) were allowed by the Independents and Republicans to demonize Audrey Clement who ran a consistent campaign based on social, fiscal, and environmental responsibility.

Worst candidate was Mark Levine, who admits he's going to Richmond to further the LGBT agenda and his anti-domestic violence agenda aimed at heterosexuals.

Yes. I believe Cristol and Dorsey will use the County Board as a means of enriching themselves.

What is disconcerting - elderly Democrats on fixed incomes clutching their blue sample ballots while arriving to vote for a resurrection of Zimmerman-era tax-borrow-spend.

Beats me why the Baby Boomer Democrats who grew up in an era of overcrowded schools with no relocatables and 30+ kids in a classroom are voting for Taj Mahal schools with every conceivable amenity and which are close to capacity the day construction is completed (Wakefield H.S.) when they are living on fixed incomes. Duh

Beats me why families with kids who will be starting college in 5 years were clutching their blue sample ballots while arriving to vote for a resurrection of Zimmerman-era tax-borrow-spend.

The hateful comments on this blog and its comments section have been reported to County authorities for review.

Oh, some Democrat War Heeler is unhappy. Watch out.

Can't tell the Sheeple their real estate taxes will increase 4% to 6% every year far into the future to pay for Cristol's and Dorsey's campaign promises.

Fiscal responsibility isn't cool in Arlington. Only time things change is when the fiscal irresponsibility gets out of control.

While you are talking to the authorities tell them to tell the scofflaw parents who are non-residents to take their kids out of Arlington schools.

County had to put a bond referendum on the ballot to get our streets paved. Sheesh.

Where is the independent internal auditor we were promised a year ago?
