Dozens of Rolling Thunder Patriots Hurt in Fights

Hey Yupette,

I thought it was bad with the Pub Crawlers last year.

Last night fights broke out among Rolling Thunder Patriots up and down the B-R Corridor and elsewhere in Arlington, mostly at hotels in Crystal City and Rosslyn and at bars everywhere. Several dozen Patriots were taken to hospitals in and around Arlington by EMS, or otherwise sought medical treatment.

Fighting also broke out in hotels and bars in neighboring jurisdictions, Alexandria, Falls Church, and Fairfax County. Fighting broke out between rival Patriot motorcycle groups, and people who have nothing to do with Rolling Thunder were assaulted.

What happened to the ordinances enacted by the County Board to reign in pub crawls? Appears Arlington Police told the Patriots: "Thank you for your service to our country, please go to bed and sleep it off".

Several years ago Arlington Yupette recommended that Rolling Thunder move elsewhere. It's time.

What happens when your county's police chief lives two counties away, almost none of your county's police, fire, EMS employees live in the county where they work, and public service employees get paid millions in overtime to parent Patriot partying.

Many veteran Arlington public service employees earn more than $100,000 with overtime.

Move Rolling Thunder.

Incredible. Half of the people employed by Arlington County are making massive amounts of overtime parenting Rolling Thunder this weekend.

Rolling Thunder - Bunch of alcoholics, druggies, and biker gangsters who wrap themselves in the American flag and so are allowed to act out their juvenile delinquent behavior at various places like the Pentagon and Arlington National Cemetery.

Every year Rolling Thunder gets worse.

The Aryan bikers were looking for African Americans to beat up last night outside a couple of the bars.

Meanwhile, Arlington Police were stopping motorists near the EFC Metro Station last night for Driving While Latino and Driving While Black.

I'm surprised no one was shot last night.

At least they don't ride their Harleys on the sidewalks like the other group of delinquents County Government can't do enough for.

"Thank you for your service to our Country...love making 24 yours of overtime this weekend being a surrogate parent for you redneck a--holes".

You Arlington Gays and Lesbians need to straighten out. That's why us Patriots are going to elect Senator Ted Cruz our next President.

Major League brawls, fights, and assaults occurred in and around Crystal City last night.

Stay away from Crystal City hotels tonight (Saturday).

Has anyone done a cost / benefit analysis to determine whether whatever tax revenue this event brings in exceeds the cost of County employees being biker nannies for 3-4 days?

Move Rolling Thunder to VA Beach-Yorktown-Williamsburg.

Also stay off the S 23d St bar and restaurant strip tonight (Saturday).

Arlington PD parented adult Rolling Thunder delinquents again last night.

But were stopping SUVs for any reason or no reason.

Rolling Thunder is another special interest sacred cow that both the pols and the media are afraid to touch.

Yeah, you can climb on your Harley 8 beers over the limit for DWI and you will be completely ignored, until you start driving on the sidewalk.

More Rolling Thunder.

Move Rolling Thunder to West Virginia.

Hey, I can beat that. You can climb on your bicycle in Arlington, 8 beers over the limit for DWI, and ride on the sidewalk until you hit and injure a pedestrian.

Ride to The Wall is over and they're now making noise in Arlington's residential areas.

Yes, taxpayers are paying a lot for overtime this weekend, Arlington County Police, Fire, EMS, Staff couldn't do enough for Rolling Thunder.

A/C is on so it's not like yesterday and Friday when the windows were open.

Arlington County Government long ago stopped caring about Arlington residents.

Yuppie...they're gone.

Next year there will be stabbings and shootings.

What's the bill for county employee overtime going to be?

If Arlington could tell Millennials who live, work, and vote in Arlington to knock off the drunk and disorderly conduct during pub crawls Arlington can tell biker rednecks from Bumpass to knock off drunk and disorderly conduct during Rolling Thunder.

In ten years there will be noiseless electric cars, lots of them, that drive themselves.

H-D and Rolling Thunder PR teams maintain that Rolling Thunder caused no problems this year (same as they claimed previous years). Not true.

Anonymous said...

Arlington and other police departments and the Virginia State Police apparently take no decibel readings of noise produced by any motor vehicle.

Anonymous said...

How much air pollution do all the motorcycles produce?

Anonymous said...

An older and/or modified Harley produces about 20 times the hydrocarbon pollution of a new SUV.

Anonymous said...

H-D and Rolling Thunder PR teams deny Rolling Thunder caused any problems. Actually more than 100 bikers and others were hurt in bar fights and various assaults related to Rolling Thunder in jurisdictions around the Beltway.

How much does this event cost Arlington taxpayers? Also, I want to purchase a Nissan Leaf all electric car and if I bought one there are only a few places to charge it in Arlington, and why do we pay for the police to both break up bar fights and be parents for adult delinquents?

Harley-Davidson is actively engaged in R & D for electric motorcycles. Considering many Harleys are ridden 20 miles or less (typically from a biker's home to the Harley dealer which is where Harley owners typically socialize) electric Harleys should be popular, except they don't make noise and Harley owners can't spend thousands modifying the engines.
