Same Sex Marriage Legal in Virginia? Time for an Updated Statement of Economic Interests from Jay Fisette.

Hello,

A.Y. sent a volunteer to the Arlington County Board Clerk's office last January to peruse County Board Members' Statements of Economic Interests. One that immediately came to her attention was County Board Chair Jay Fisette's.

Surprise, though Jay was married (in D.C.) to his long-time domestic partner, Robert Rosen, founder and CEO of executive consulting firm Healthy Companies International, Jay didn't have to report their combined income or business interests because the State of Virginia didn't recognize same-sex marriages. Legal opinion by Commonwealth's Attorney Theo Stamos.

So now that the State does recognize same-sex marriages, will Jay file an amended Statement of Economic Interests that could show how many of Rob's corporate clients have business interests with County Government and APS? We hope so.

One of Rob's corporate clients is Boeing, and even cynical County Staff admitted the new Boeing Government Operations Headquarters was a County Board 'giveaway deal' made during the Zimmerman era.

Jay didn't get to live in his and Rob's House and Garden home in exclusive Ashton Heights based upon the $40,000 - $55,000 he's been paid for being on the County Board.

Too bad A.Y. is the only media outlet that raises questions about local elected officials' outside sources of income.

Cindy

Anyone else noticed that Inside Nova - Sun Fisette has become a PR outlet for the Arlington Democratic Party?

Yes...I want to know if a corporation has to pay Healthy Companies International $50,000 and-up for 'executive training' in order to obtain access to Chairman Fisette.

How about Jay and Rob making their joint 2013 federal income tax return public, in the furtherance of good government?

Jay and Rob made millions from the 'revolving door' between Healthy Companies corporate offices and the County Board offices.

I am still trying to figure out how much the U.S.S. Arlington's various galas cost Arlington taxpayers. Ship was constructed by Healthy Companies defense contractor clients.

So, if Robert Rosen is such a hot shot executive consultant how did we get stuck paying $1 million for a bus shelter that doesn't shelter?

Rob likes to do corporate. Jay likes to do corporate welfare. A perfect match for Arlington.

How about Rob and Jay figure out who will own/lease the NSF headquarters building when NSF moves? Besides Chinese take-out restaurants and nail salons.

How about doing the following to put an end to Nimby Elitism by the likes of Jay and Rob? Let's organize a group of Nauck residents to hold a monthly 5K run through Ashton Heights early Saturday morning, start and finish in front of Jay and Rob's home.

Better yet. Put Nauck residents on several church buses and do the 5K run in historic Clifton, start line in front of Barbara Donnellan's home, finish line in front of Doug Scott's home.

Gay marriage has nothing to do with Jay Fisette's failure to disclose his economic interests. The current law requires such disclosure for anyone who provides more than 50% of a persons support. Jay makes nothing, but then-partner makes way, way more. Simply math requires that Jay should have been reporting his partner's information long ago.

So Jay, Mary, and Walter just approved $26 million for streetcar design and engineering services? How many of the corporations that will provide the services have CEOs, CFOs, COOs, etc., in need of 'executive coaching'?

JBG wants to build mega buildings in Rosslyn? Their execs need to sign up for 1-on-1 executive coaching with Healthy Companies first.

Hey, I have a design for an all-weather farmer's market that I'm trying to interest the County in building. But it will cost $90 million. How much executive training do I have to sign up for to make it happen?

Healthy Companies may provide effective executive leadership training, but I want to see a list of Rosen's clients and want to know how many have done business with the County or sought approval for something from the County.

This is something the Post would have jumped on...before the Post descended into drivel.

So, Jay's bikester buds are unloading their racing bikes in my neighborhood and doing a Tour de Fairlington on weekends? Time for me and my neighbors to do the same in exclusive Ashton Heights.

Theo Stamos? Same Theo Stamos who gleefully prosecutes homeless people for shoplifting a loaf of bread?

Anonymous said...

Speaking of Theo Stamos, I saw Walter Tejada in Theo's neighborhood, Westover Village, with some of his amigos who were visiting from El Salvador and they were walking very fast...like they only had a couple minutes to be outta there before the police showed up.

It just burns me up that Jay Fisette, Carrie Johnson, and other VIP Dems get to exclude themselves from any effects of the so-called smart growth new urbanism they inflict on everyone else.

Anonymous said...

LOL...that's because they DID only have a few minutes to be outta there before the police showed up.

Jay and the rest are wooing JBG to build literal "skyscraper" buildings in Rosslyn while NSF is preparing to move out of Arlington? Do Jay and the rest have a clue about what will become of the NSF building?

I'm all for a 10K bicycle free-range sprint through Ashton Heights. No stopping for stop sighs, ride on sidewalks, cut across front lawns...just as the bikesters do in my Lyon Village neighborhood.

Like the other 200 key supporters of the Regime Jay gets to do what her wants, where he wants, when he wants.

Nada Tejada is another one who became wealthy while on the C.B.
