Fisette's Vision for Arlington: Pyongyang on the Potomac

Hey Yupette,

I was wondering where I saw all the elements of Jay Fisette's "vision" for Arlington County.

Well, check out beautiful downtown Pyongyang, North Korea. A vision for Arlington that Jay Fisette, Chris Zimmerman, and the rest of the Regime have come to love. In the event you haven't been keeping up with what Kim Jong-un has been up to over the past couple of years that he's been the Supreme Leader of North Korea. he's setting the 21st Century standard for the People's Republic of Arlington to follow.

In addition to the ugly monolithic buildings, obsolete subway system, dilapitated streetcar system, and car-free diet, the Supreme Leader is imposing a Bike Pyongyang edict on the city's residents. Except for women, who are legally prohibited from riding bicycles. Is North Korea the model for "Smart Growth"? Sure looks that way to me.

Anyway, you can do a Web search and see for yourself what Jay has in store for us, once he's re-selected to serve on the Politburo.

Thanks for your blog.

Ted

Don't forget Pyongyang's extravagant sports and aquatic facilities.

Not to be outdone by the People's Republic of Arlington, Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un is building new Fun Parks for the upper echelon of the Party faithful in and around Pyongyang.

North Koreqn women aren't allowed to ride bicycles to protect them from accidents. Some socialist republic.

Pyongyang is a fun city for the Party Elite, just like you-know-where. There's even a socialist version of Pentagon City.

Hey, they get to listen to the same kind of 'don't worry, be happy our Supreme Leader knows what's best' drivel from the People's Democratic Republic as we get to hear from the People's Republic of Arlington's propaganda machine --- AVN.

Then there's our worship-our-collective-leadership national propaganda channels - NPR, CSPAN, PBS..

The smaller buildings in the photo of beautiful downtowm Pyongyang appear to be 30-stories, the larger buildings appear to be 50 stories.

Pyongyang under Kim and and Arlington under Jay function similarly -- sucking in huge amounts from depressed nations so the Party Elite can party.

We alternately laugh at and are appalled by the North Koreans being brainwashed. But look at the drivel we are subjected to via dysfunctional high school drop-out celebrities who don't bother to earn a GED.

Yeah, it will be interesting to see what product O.J. pitches once he's paroled.

Latest on O.J., he's gonna pitch Ginsu knives.

Excellent, excellent! Thank you, Ted for posting. "Pyongyang on the Potomac".....thumbs up, sir!

The WORST: Local Nanny Media (Sun Gazette, Arl Now, Patch) who are more than happy to brainwash the sheeple in return for ad revenue, access to the Politburo, and propaganda written at taxpayers' expense that they publish as "news".

I wondered where the architecture for the monolithic monstrosity the Politburo approved for Pentagon City at its last meeting came from.

I am afraid that Arlington is going to look like a close clone of Pyongyang in ten years. The resemblence is already uncanny (except for their respective monuments).

Certainly Crystal City and Pentagon City.

Remind me why someone as fiscally irresponsible as Jay Fisette keeps getting re-elected the the County Board.

Both the DPRK and PRA (People's Republic of Arlington) have huge paid bureaucracies and Party organizations that serve the interests of tiny cliques, the Kim family and the county board respectively.

Monolithic monstrosities? Stay tuned for the redevelopment of Courthouse and Rosslyn, coming to you in September via the Politburo's Democratic Committee planning advisors and their corrupt capitalist cronies.

Monolithic Monstrosities? Which Socialist Regime approved building 885 parking spaces under a monster building while spending millions encouraging Party members to go on a "car-free diet"?

Given the one-party rule for decades, shouldn't our county be named the Democratic People's Republic of Arlington (acronym DPRA)?

Anonymous said...

One-party regime? Let's talk about the illegal break-ins by law enforcement and ACDC facilitators, the massive malicious rumor-mongering and name-calling, false suspicious person reports to law enforcement, and other social control mechanisms that have been implemented by the People's Democratic Republic of Arlington on a wide scale for more than two decades.

DPRA - another one-party regime where the regime controls the media. In the event you wondered why for-profit news blogs that don't go along with the program don't last long.

How about Fi$ette's "Palace of Yuppie Culture" aka the Artisphere? A direct steal from the Kim family's People's Palace of Culture, albeit less grand. Similar Socialist drivel.

DPRK - " Capitalist black markets everywhere, what capitalist black markets?"

DPRA - "Drugs and prostitution everywhere, what drugs and prostitution?"

Great posting and comments.

I want to know this - where's the A-Town clone in downtown Pyongyang where the Young Socialists party till they puke?

Ignoring the source of power for the buildings, would not the buildings in Pyongyang produce fewer greenhouse gas emissions than similar buildings in Arlington since there are no vehicles garaged on-site?
