County Board Serious About Selling Parks, Libraries, Community Centers, Etc.

Hi Yupette,

Here's the agenda for the County Board Office / Executive Leadership Team agenda for the March 20th joint work session at WETA. The County's Public Information Director, Diana Sun, is lying like a dog when she says that the meeting consisted of "informal strategic discussions". As you can see this was a formal facilitated meeting where the County Board and Executive Leadership Team were tasked with finding ways of disposing of  "aging and underutilized County property". Moreover, the teams that were tasked with deciding how to dispose of County property mostly consisted of non-residents. How's that for local democracy aka PLACE? The Planning Commission was represented by two Democratic Party / County Board facilitators, who didn't participate in the team discussions. No doubt about it, the County Board and County Manager are deadly serious about selling off the County's public infrastructure.

Speaking of lying like dogs, PLACE has become a multi-million dollar-per-year public relations/propaganda program. Oh, Diana Sun doesn't live in Arlington either.

New public infrastructure? Anyone seen the new $1 million bus shelter on Columbia Pike and S. Walter Reed Drive? Another reason I will never vote for a Democratic incumbent candidate.

Yeah..the Zimmercrats want to move the branch libraries to storefronts and pay their corporate REIT cronies $15,000/month in rent.

Steve Cole and Nancy Iacomini attended to to represent the Planning Commission.

More like $25,000 in rent.

Excuse me...how the f--k did a police chief who doesn't live in Arlington, a fire chief who doesn't live in Arlington, a deputy county manager who is 2 days from retirement and is not a resident...etc., get to decide about disposing of our nature centers?

The corruption starts at the top. Forty years ago the Wa$h Po$t was going after the plutocrats who financed Nixon. Today the Po$t's Management is a bunch of Nixon-era plutocrat wannabes.

"Diana, don't forget ArlNow, we are looking for another ABBIE Award this year, based upon our facilitation of Chris's vision for Arlington."

Hi, Diana, The Chamber and Sun Gazette need 2-3 pro-Pike streetcar press releases to counter whatever anti-streetcar PR the loopy lefties are putting out on March 27th.

Ain't it the truth! The local media and the public dis-information flacks in the County Manager's office are thick as thieves. They all lie like dogs to the Sheeple. Most of the County's press releases are written to the specifications of the local media, at taxpayer's expense.

Anyone who wants to know what occurred on March 20th can file a FOIA request with the County Manager's Office. The number to call is 703-228-3120. Don't expect the local media, who are de facto shills for whatever the County Board wants, to report on anything the County Board doesn't want reported.

Media are also too busy reporting the latest waste of tax dollars on the U.S.S. Arlington Extravaganza. Press releases courtesy of Diana Sun and Arlington taxpayers.

Ask the Alexandria activists who want to protect the waterfront from massive development about the Washington Post.

Correction, most of the Arlington County press releases printed by the Sun Gazette are written to $cott's specifications at taxpayers' expense.

"Hi, Diana, AOL Headquarters wants the local Patch blogs to focus on scaring the hell out of the yuppie soccer moms next month. Can you get the police to round up a few homeless guys wandering around somewhere near an elementary school? C U in Newport News."

FYI, the person posting comments on ArlNow as "Drax" is Diana Sun or one of her assistants.

A 2100 drone/dronette. That explains the endless snide and condescending attitute and tone of it's comments. Drax has also gone by the monikers of Mehoo, Dynaroo, and Doodly. By whatever name, it is an obnoxious, condescending, know-it-all schmedrick.

When will AVN produce a full length feature based on Diana Kresh's conversation with the Zimmercrats: "Take My Branch Library, Please"

Let's see, if they sell Lubber Run to Vornado they will have enough for the 23 remaining $1 million superstops on the Pike.

Anonymous said...

You know the Arlington media are bought off when it took the Post to run the reality check on the $1 million bus shelter.

Anonymous said...

The remaining Pike superstops will only cost $904,000 each, but there will likely be a 50% cost overrun. So figure they will have to sell Long Branch to Vornado for $32 million.
