Route 1 Bus Rapid Transit Project Construction Progressing in Alexandria

Hi Yupette,

While Chris Zimmerman is inflicting his outrageously expensive streetcar "legacy" on Arlington taxpayers, the cost-efficient Route 1 Bus Rapid Transit project in Alexandria is progressing on-time, thanks to a mild Winter. Check out the project next time you're on Route 1. Or just do a Web search on "Alexandria Route 1 Corridor Bus Rapid Transit" for more information.

Anyone else hear President Obama's inaugural address yesterday? It's the 21st Century, folks.

Hi Cindy, received my 2013 tax assessment notice in the mail today. Assessment of my Fairlington TH decreased by 4.2%. Anyone else experience the same?

Route 1 BRT will run on a dedicated transitway.

Las Vegas BRT runs on city streets in downtown L,V,, just like a city bus, and on a dedicated transitway in the suburbs.

My TH condo assessment decreased 3.1%. I live in South Arlington.

Appears condo assessments have significantly decreased all over Arlington. Significance for 2014 budget?

Significance is that you will see a 6-8% residential real estate tax rate increase to pay for Zimmy's streetcar system.

Ain't that the truth! I dread opening the bill when it comes this spring.

For anyone who believes the Trolleytrickerers who are spreading the false info that BRT needs dedicated transitways, here's a link to a Youtube video proving BRT doesn't:

You can watch more YouTube videos that show the L.V. BRT on its route to the suburbs using city streets like a city bus.
