Our options? DIE for power-crazed megalomaniac Chris Zimmerman's streetcar or LIVE with BRT. Not a choice, a mandate, LIVE with BRT.

DIE for ZimmeRail? How many were injured and killed when Zimmerman was on the WMATA Board and the Metrorail agenda was cosmetics first, safety last?

When, if ever, will local news blogs show photos of state-of-the-art BRT?

Unlikely their County Board - Chamber of Commerce - Real Estate Trust controllers will allow local media to publish anything substantive about state-of-the-art BRT, double deck buses, fuel cell buses.

Yes, the Arlington Chamber Board of Directors will just tell its local media member, $cott McCaffrey, to go right ahead and do a big feature about state-of-the-art bus rapid transit.

So, is Zimmy going to pack the meeting with streetcar proponents?

Very likely.

The Wright RTV in the photo is capable of using dedicated right of way and also city streets, as it is operated in downtown and suburban Las Vegas.

Time to put state-of-the-art BRT on major arterials out to the outer suburbs. How many more autos, SUVS, etc., are we gonna cram into Arlington?

Crystal City neighborhood residents don't want streetcars in Crystal City either.

Duh, take a streetcar from Pentagon City to Alexandria then transfer to BRT? How smart is that?

I understand that representatives of American River Taxi will be in attendance to outline transit options to Water World at North Tract.

Corrupt? The local media are so corrupt that they won't mention BRT, let alone post a photo of a modern BRT vehicle to their news blogs.

Activists and news media attended. One of them gave $cott McCaffrey grief for not posting photos of BRT vehicles and information on the SG's news blog.

Sheesh, McCaffrey admitted that the Arlington Chamber of Commerce would not allow him to publish photos or information about BRT alternatives to the Pike Streetcar. While sitting next to Atkins and Antomnelli, no less.

Climate of Fear? No fooling. Individuals, non-profits, for-profits, media are all tied to receiving $$$ and favors from the County Board. To the extent that all of the above have to go along with every sleazy deal the County Board makes with out-of-state developers, facilitated by non-resident County Staff.

Beats me why $cott doesn't relocate to Myrtle Beach, where the Chamber of Commerce IS the Government.

Worse than $cott is Professor of Journalism Steve Thurston, who publishes the Arlington Mercury News blog. No one expects $cott to do anything but cater to the wants of the Elite in return for a seat in the Chamber's boardroom. Thurston does not (yet) run advertising and has no reason not to feature bus rapid transit, except that he would no longer have access to VIPs at 2100 Clarendon Blvd.
