Bomb Reportedly Removed from 9-11 Memorial Near Pentagon, Detonated

Hello, Yupette,

What was the explosion everyone heard about 4 PM yesterday afternoon while a 'suspicious package' incident near the Pentagon was being investigated by several police agencies? Appears the suspicious object was, in fact, an explosive device and either detonated while being moved in an explosion containment vehicle or was detonated at a secure site in South Arlington. I can't determine which. Suspicious object was not a box full of discarded trash as has been reported elsewhere. Police were very concerned about the possibility of a second bomb hidden near the first.

It was apparently an ammonium nitrate bomb.

Police used a small explosive charge to detonate an ammonium nitrate bomb.

Sure it wasn't Bubba and Billy Bob playing with the pump controls at the Potomac Yards Sewage Lift Station?

No, they were still playing with that pump today.

Of course mums the word from the Authorities. Let's not embarrass any elected VIPs by disclosing another attack on the Pentagon.

Nice day and I had the windows open. There were two explosions, a bang and then a big BOOOOOM.

"Authorities" are all shaken up today.

Cops could not be sure what was in the package (dogs indicted explosives) so they removed it and blew it up. Now they are all shook up that the high explosives in the package had considerable destructive power.

I think Al Quida manufactured an 'augmented' bomb with ammonium nitrate and several other high-explosive components.

Meanwhile, back at Arlington's $568 Million Wastewater Treatment Plant, the plant's computer system is failing to control the plant. It's all under manual control. If the manufacturer's engineers and experienced operators weren't working tonight controlling the pumps, the plant would blow up.

Bomb-sniffing dogs are in major physical stress from having to be everywhere the past week.

Know what this is all about? "Don't Scare the Tourists Away". That's what happens when the Chamber of Commerce controls the local newspapers and the for-profit news blogs are only interested in ad revenue.

Agreed. The greedy for-profit blogs are either saying nothing or removing comments.

Bomb was detonated on or near the fire-ems training site at the Trades Center near beautiful downtown Shirlington.

Authorities won't admit anything. Tourism would dry up overnight.

As for me, I think I will stay away from tourist attractions for awhile.

Same PR Team in the County Manager's Office who produced the bull-oney about the wastewater treatment plant will write a good cover-up 'story' about the explosion.

Arl Now blog removed at least 20 comments regarding the source of the explosion.

I'm also staying away from monuments and tourist sites this summer.

Arl Now blog already concocted a cover story, after removing a number of comments posted over the weekend.

Why do people laugh when I call Arlington Government like the Mubarak Regime? Happens to be true.
