'Libby Garvey Could Care Less About Infrastructure...Check Out Her Own Neighborhood'

Hello,

Like many Fairlington households, we received an oversized postcard from South Fairlington resident Libby Garvey's campaign. She promised to 'Work to ensure sufficient support for public safety, infrastructure maintenance, etc....'.

Like everything else Libby says and does that statement and others like it are blather from someone who's watched the public infrastructure in her own neighborhood deteriorate.

Fairlington's streets are a mess and we have third world street lighting. Whatever money has gone to fix infrastructure has come because Libby's neighbors hounded the County Board.

In fact, Libby is seldom seen in Fairlington, except on Election Day. She's too busy traveling elsewhere.

Oh, she has big plans for Abingdon School. But we already have two community centers, an increasing volume of traffic, and our streets are becoming so-called 'linear parks'.

Fairlington and the reset of Arlington need our streets paved now, not after the last Taj Mahal elementary school / recreation center / community center is completed, ten years from now.

Libby's been repeatedly asked by Fairlington residents to call the County Board about needed infrastructure maintenance. And she's repeatedly refused.

No way am I going to vote for her on Tuesday.

Here's a photo of the street in her neighborhood.

Cindy

Libby Garvey is all talk, except when it comes to planning Taj Mahal schools.

Libby and her good Republican buds had speed tables installed in Fairlington and now the speed tables are crumbling. Of course they moved away so what do they care.

How many synthetic playing fields is Libby planning for Abingdon School? Just what we need, noise and traffic from dawn to dusk.

Cindy, Libby wants kids to ride to school over those streets. She's like her mentor, Chris 'Safety Last' Zimmerman. You forgot to say that Libby runs her mouth and starts rumors about anyone who doesn't go along with the program, when she's not traveling.

Cindy, the bike lanes they painted on the crumbling streets are also crumbling. Also, center lines and crosswalks need repainting.

Cindy, you forgot to mention the inadequate sewer system in Libby's neighborhood, took years of constant pressure on the County Board by residents to get that infrastructure problem fixed.

How about the "Fairlington" Community Center. Plenty of money to renovate that. At least 60% of the people who use it don't live in Arlington.

Only reason the street lighting in Fairlington improved is because the old mercury vapor street lights that are a cash cow for Dominion finally burned out.

Libby, what have you promised Fairlington's sports and recreation special interests? Midnight soccer practice at Abingdon Elementary School?

How many tax $$$ are wasted by allowing Dominion to keep old street lamps in operation?

Want to know what's disgusting? School Board has allowed the Abingdon School's open space / play areas to be used as an off-leash / on leash dog exercise area. This has been going on for years.

Another year of neglect and you won't need speed tables on Arlington's residential streets.

Don't you dare complain about the deteriorated state of anything in Fairlington. The local Democratic Party ward heelers (Libby Garvey's friends) will start a laundry list of rumors about you and call the cops and report you as a 'suspicious person' when they see you taking groceries out of your car.
