Time for Scott McCaffrey to Move On

Hi Yupette:

The new Sun Gazette Web Blog is a mess. It's difficult or impossible to post comments. It seems the blog's software bugs aren't going to be fixed and Scotty doesn't care. He (apparently) is no longer allowed to run the SG's news blog, and the SG's newsroom, as he pleases. All he CAN do is post press releases from the County Manager's Office, Arlington Chamber of Commerce, real estate sales reports, etc. This is the guy who who awards 'C' grades to any candidate for County Board who doesn't go along with the County Board's status quo dumb growth program. Well, his current grade is 'F' in Journalism 101. Time for Sarasota Scotty to move on...to Sarasota.

Yes, he should move on...to being a PR person for a big real estate firm or a local chamber of commerce.

I registered to post a comment and then could not post a comment. Why even bother including a comments feature ?

Time for a change at the Sun Gazette. McCaffrey's aligned with the status quo that's destroying the county with it's fast buck big buck projects. It's not just the middle class that's moving out. Upper middle class people who are nearing retirement aren't sticking around to see the quality of life here go to hell as the county is urbanized to benefit out-of-state REITs.

Inside the Beltway badly needs a newspaper that's unbiased and free of conflicts of interest.

Current County Board members, whose interests McCaffrey serves, will be gone in 5 years leaving us with the mega-mess they created.

Another local newspaper owned, operated, and managed by an out-of-state corporation or corporations.

People on this blog constantly rail at out-of-state REITs. But equal blame goes to absentee property owners who live in places like Florida and Hawaii and have not invested a dime in renovations and makeovers to their 30-40-50-60 year old buildings.

McCaffrey also posts any and all PR the Democratic Machine hands him.

The people who run Arlington, Alexandria, and Falls Church are nuts. The Federal Government is contracting, not growing.

McCaffrey was just appointed to the Emergency Planning Commission by the County Board. Why is this guy endorsing anyone? He's obviously going to support Hynes, Tejada, and all other Democratic incumbents.

WHAT emergency planning? You mean what's been done to promote the interests of the 911 Re-Enactors special interest group?

Why should I provide my e-mail address to the Sun Gazette's owners - General Electric and a bunch of banks who issue credit cards?
