Barcroft, Douglas Park Brace for National Guard Readiness Center Expansion

Hello, Yupette,

I'm not only worried about the massive in-fill planned for Columbia Pike, I'm also worried about the opening of the massive addition to the National Guard Readiness Center on George Mason Drive this month. We are getting the usual 'don't worry, be happy' from the Army, Jim Moran and Chris Zimmerman. Fact is there will be a lot more traffic of all kinds in and out of the Readiness Center and cutting through our quiet residential streets.

Our suburban neighborhoods, Barcroft and Douglas Park, were never, never, designed for this kind of infill. And the Readiness Center expansion was never mentioned during the Dover, Kohl design charettes last week.

The people who make these decisions don't live anywhere near the affected neighborhoods. Or, if they do, they live in 'protected enclaves'. Like Chris Zimmerman, who lives across from a wilderness area. Don't believe it? Here's a photo of Douglas Park across from his home.

Linda, that's what happens when elected officials and community leaders have multiple major conflicts of interest.

FYI, there's a huge court fight going on in upper Westchester County NY (home of Hill and Bill, among other Eltist Democrats) over the systematic and near-total exclusion of middle class minorities.

Well, Linda, perhaps you should talk with your Civic Association President, John Snyder, about your concerns.

Linda, it's like F-18's flying over Virginia Beach...the sound of Harley choppers cutting through your neighborhood on the way to and from the National Guard Warfigh err.. Readiness Center. The sound of freedom.

Feds are doing warrantless break-ins and searches of homes in the neighborhood, authorized by the Patriot Act. No need to worry if you're a Tea Party Patriot.

I thought Obama stopped that.

Ha, Ha, what do they think they will find? A tie-dyed T-shirt?

Stop me if you heard this one:

What's the difference between the Green Party and the Independent Green Party?

Members of the Green Party have security clearances. Members of the Independent Green Party have security clearances and are retired military officers.

I would like to know how the Douglas Park Fourth of July Parade became a campaign rally for Adam Ebbin, who lives in Alexandria.

Linda, you can always call your civic association president, John Snyder, at CPRO. Ask him what CPRO, Dover, Kohl, and the Reits have planned for Douglas Park. Let us know what he says.

How much did Adam Ebbin pay for the Arlington County Police escorts and traffic control?

Arlington Police are well-aware they are used extensively by the county board, county staff, and 'community leaders' to keep minorities from participating in events, meetings, etc.

Arlington's police don't live in Arlington and are here to get a couple years of training and experience before moving on. They are no different than the rest of county staff, they view Arlington residents as nuisances.

I see Arlington police all the time and it's been at least a year since I saw an Arlington police officer who was not white and Northern European.

There's also a picnic shelter in Douglas Park that's "off limits' to anyone who doesn't live in the immediate neighborhood.

Appears all the civic associations are becoming de facto neighborhood Democratic clubs. President of the Fairlington civic association endorsed Libby Garvey in the monthly newsletter.

That's the truth! Of course, the whole Arlington County Board, School Board and "government" is just one big Democratic club. Not the real Democrats I remember from back when, but the "Democrats" as in the rich-whine-and-cheese-elitist-we-know-what-is-best-for-you types from away that come here and then stick their limo "liberal" noses up at less-than-rich-not-"elite" regular Arlingtonians, many of whom grew up here or lived here many years before these carpetbaggers came here.

Democrats? Ha, Ha. Don't forget President Barack "What Federal Program that Benefits the Middle Class Will I Throw Under the Bus Next" Obama.

Ain't that the truth, Senior! You nailed it!

How many federal programs were Barack Obama, his mother, and his grandparents signed onto? Bet a donut it was at least a dozen. Who paid for his Ivy League education?

Barack Obama is another in a long line of Harvard Elitist Democrats.
