Foxcroft Heights Gentrification-Facilitation Charade June 23rd

Hello, Ms. Yupette,

The Foxcroft Heights gentrification-facilitation charade will take place tomorrow, Thursday, between 7 and 9 PM at the Walter Reed Community Center, more than two miles from Foxcroft Heights. Why not across the street at the Sheraton where the other Pike charades will be held? Because then many more Foxcroft Heights residents would show up to protest the gentrification of their middle-class neighborhood. Zimmerman and his pet planner, Dover, Kohl, can't wait to redevelop Foxcroft Heights, to replace the uppity middle class with acquiescent yuppies and their passive servants. Oh, forgot to mention, the police will also be there.

It just kills the County Board, County Planning Staff, the County's pet developers, REITs, lawyers, and media boosters that any affordable middle class housing still remains in Arlington. All the hedo elite who are running and ruining Arlington are concerned about is building more hedo infrastructure.

George

Vote Them Out - starting with Hynes and Tejada. Totally irresponsible. My kid attend class in a trailer for the next 10 years so they can build an unnecessary street car system on the Pike and Crystal City for $300 million? No Way!

It's bipartisan. Democrats want a socialist republic, Republicans want a corporate welfare state.

Ain't that the truth!

NO STREETCAR SYSTEM. We have to build classrooms, hire teachers, fund education for 5,000 more students first.

Who appointed the Chamber of Commerce to run Arlington? Apparently Zimmerman has.

Put hybrid double-deck buses on the Pike. Save the taxpayers $140 million.

I can't wait. The Columbia Pike streetscape in Foxcroft Heights is a great location for tanning salons and vacant street level retail.

They're all $leazy $cum, including the local media

Sleazy Scum? You bet. They won't help the middle class residents of Foxcroft Heights fix up their homes. Tax revenue is desperately needed for Zimmerman's streetcar, Fisette's aquatic center, Tejada's indoor soccer arena, and so on.

Yeah, just what we need on the Pike...more bars and restaurants.

Zimmerman is talking about a $150 million streetcar system on the Pike by 2017. But what about 6,000 more kids in our school system by 2017?

Put them in a trailer classroom and toss them a soccer ball.

Zimmerman is such a total autocratic pig it's scary.

We need a wide rage of retail and services on the Pike. We get...bars, restaurants, health clubs, tanning salons.

It's the same dozen people who attend these facilitation meetings.

I want inexpensive double deck buses on the Pike. Not expensive vanity streetcars. Not excuses why there can't be double deck buses on the Pike. We desperately need new schools and classrooms. Time to replace the reckless and irresponsible County Board, starting with Hynes and Tejada.
