Fisette Energy Plan - Gift to Fossil Fuel Industry

Hello Yupette,

So the County Board passsed a resolution accepting Jay Fi$$ette's 'community' energy plan last night? Same County Board that also voted to fund $15 million of capital projects without any on-site renewable energy? Same County Board that voted to proceed with Longbridge Park redevelopment where the aquatic center and sports arena will be heated by natural gas? The fossil fuel corporations must be very happy this morning.

Same County Board that's on-track to approve 2,000 to 3,000 new parking spaces this year?

Same County Board that routinely approved new buildings that were totally energy in-efficient until 2007?

Another reason why when the Board or their spokespersons yammer on about "going green", "saving energy", etc. I just laugh my back bumper off. Shoot, just about every open space in Arlington has another McMansion or high-rise condo being constructed. Or some older house is bought and instead of fixing it up, down it comes and a monster McMansion that uses far more energy to heat/cool it goes up.

The Board genuinely cares about "saving energy" and "going green" the way a rattlesnake cares about the mouse its about to eat.

How about all the impervious surface being created by infill? How green is that?

You should see what the yuptards
are doing to coastal areas along the Atlantic with their gated condo complexes and McMansions.

County Board: "Pay no attention to all the parking we're creating...patronize Bikeshare our latest artisphere."

It's spelled Bike$$hare. Another for-profit / non-profit 6-figure income opportunity for Fi$$ette's friends, heavily subsidized by taxpayers.

Yes, my parents took early retirement 20 years ago and purchased a small historic home on eastern Cape Cod. They are being overwhelmed by yuptard developments. They own a Honda Civic, everyone else drives a big pickup, SUV, or crossover. They are the only family with solar water heating. So it's not only Arlington, but everywhere.

I would be happy to bike to work, once Fi$$ette repaves my street.

Fi$ette can't pave Wilson Blvd. in front of the Arti$phere. What a mess.

Latest on the Arti$phere - taxpayer subsidized non-profits and poverty pimps are being ordered to use the Arti$phere for their gala events by "county government".

When does my street get paved?

So-called "Bike to Work" is another scheme to destroy residential neighborhoods and make them "recreation and entertainment zones".

The ultimate charade - celebrating Arlington's neighborhoods one day a year and destroying them the next 364 days.

In 10 years the current County Board members will be spending most of their time in their luxury coastal enclaves along with their friends the developers, the REITS, and their civic and media enablers.

Same County Board that hired dozens of PR enablers to produce hundreds of press releases about the County Boards environmental charades, paid for by taxpayers and printed by County Board's media shills as 'news'.
