Favola Lobbying for Marymount-O'Connell, Ignores EFC-Williamsburg Neighborhood

Hello, Yupette,

I was very unhappy to learn last night that Barbara Favola is doing everything possible to get our neighborhoods to go along with her employer, Marymount University's, efforts to destroy my neighborhood (I live close to Bishop O'Connell High School) with team sports played until 11 PM on lighted fields at Bishop O'Connell. Barbara is reportedly being paid $100,000 per year by Marymount to be it's chief lobbyist and is constantly on the telephone and in meetings either at Marymount or at the County Board offices with Walsh-Colucci, which represents Marymount, or with EFC and Williamsburg "community leaders". Only time Barbara is ever seen in my neighborhood is when she's running for re-election and she's looking for votes.

We are not Longbridge Park (where Barbara also made a deal with the County to benefit Marymount). We are a residential neighborhood and want to remain one. If Barbara wants to be a full-time lobbyist for Marymount it's time for her to resign from the County Board.

Mark, this is just a prelude to what will happen when the REITs redevelop East Falls Church.

McCafftonelli will publish news about this issue in the Sun Fisette (which is distributed in EFC and Williamsburg) after the County Baord makes a decision on January 22nd.

The state AG's office should be looking at what Barbara has been up to for the past decade.

At least the News-Press has published letters from angry homeowners in EFC-Williamsburg alerting about this private school grab for tax dollars. Because that is what O'Connell and Marymount are also after.

Don't expect anything from the pro-lifer neocons who control the Republican Party.

They send their kids to Marymount and O'Connell.

Don't expect anything much from Sarasota Scotty - his three favorite topics are me, myself, and I.

Barbara just dedicated the new DHS center near Ft. Myer. True to her Yuppie values she didn't want any DHS facility near her yupscale community. So how much did this move cost the taxpayers? Plenty.

Behind the scenes Barbara is sealing the Marymount-O'Connell deal. But when it comes time for the vote phony Favola will recuse herself for show. Wool pulled over ArlCo citizens' eyes -- check.

BTW, my neighborhood near Tuckahoe School has third world street lighting.

Barbara Favola has been intensively working on the Marymount-O'Connell steal from Arlington's taxpayers for the past month.
