Rumor Mongers in Majority of Revitalized Arlington Republican Party

Hello Yupette,

Now that Mark Kelly has resigned as chairman of the Arlington Republican Party the rumor mongers and dirty tricksters are in the majority. Mark is an attorney and would not let ACRC engage in slander campaigns or dirty tricks while he was Chairman.

Thanks for this blog.

Time to Means Test the Special Interests

Hi Yupette,

I was outraged to see that neighborhoods are having to beg for funding and engage in neighborhood fund raising to maintain neighborhood public infrastructure. The County Board's fat cat special interests are lining up for their annual welfare-for-the wealthy taxpayer subsidies. First in line is the $$$ignature Theater.

Time to means test every organization that seeks a subsidy from the County. Welfare for the wealthy sucks.

County Board to Cut Public Infrastructure, Significantly Raise Taxes in FY 11 Budget

No surprise, the County Board decided to cut police, fire, and public infrastructure used by all or most Arlington residents while preserving special programs for wealthy special interests and the County Board's pet vanity projects.

Activate the National Guard for Major Snow Emergencies

Hello, Yupette,

Guest Thread?

Why hasn't the National Guard been activated and helping remove the snow from streets, roads, airports, Metrorail stations, etc., with front loaders and dump trucks?

County Employees Perform Above and Beyond During Snow Emergency

Hello, Yupette.

I've been listening to the Arlington County radio dispatch frequencies on my old Radio Shack scanner (most of the action is now encrypted). County employees have performed above and beyond the call of duty in the snow emergency. How bad is it? The EMS crews needed snowplows to get into the dead end streets and cul de sacs to rescue people who were sick or injured and tehn carry them as far as 1/4 mile to a street where a snow plow and EMS vehicle were waiting. Power is out all over North Arlington and its really cold. This is as bad as the wind damage we had from near-miss hurricanes.

Hello Yupette,

My child is a 10th grader at Wakefield High School I am sick and tired of seeing Wakefield's problems ignored while special program after special program is funded for the Elitist Yuppies in North Arlington.

Thank you for this blog.
