County Covernment, Media, Misled Citizens About Student Population Growth

Hello, Yupette,

Why are Arlington's schools facing seriously overcrowded conditions over the next five years? Because both County Government and the local media misled citizens and voters about the size of the student population increase. Why? So school board incumbents (who the local media endorse) could build more Tah Mahal schools that will primarily function as sports and recreation centers. By the way, Arlington County employs a full-time demographer and the school system conducts a biennial census of Arlington residences.

I tried to post on McCaffrey's Sun Gazette blog about future school overcrowding but as usual McCaffrey doesn't print or post stuff that's unfavorable to the people he endorses.

We repeatedly pointed out to the Bchool Boards's pet people who made the 'planning' decisions for Wakefield that Wakefield will not have enough brick-and-mortar classrooms.

Did you notice that a week after Sally Baird was re-selected the School Board and Sun Gazette admitted that our schools face serious overcrowding?

Sun Fisette just got around to telling us that a number of Arlington's school principals run their schools any old way that suits their interests. Three weeks after Scotty endorsed "Sally".

Sally and Scotty should move to Key West and run the school system and local newspaper there.

Are we back to 500 students (at $21,270 per student) who illegally attend Arlington schools and live in places like Prince William County? Appears so.

I live in South Arlington and would love to see the Alexandria Times start an Arlington edition.

So some principals are autocratic? It starts at the top.

School Board's promises regarding overcrowding are like Obama's promises regarding "Don't Ask...Don't Tell".

All they all want to do is be re-elected.

Rest assured, no one at the new Wakefield High School will lack for sports and recreation amenities, even if the school is surrounded by 'relocatable' classrooms.

Parents at HB Woodlawn are lobbying fro a lighted million dollar soccer field, no matter how much time that takes from homework and family activities.

A demographer? Oh great, expertise that knows 4 year olds become 5 year olds and 5 year olds become 6 year olds. How much are we paying for that?

They want their kids to grow up like El Rey de Futbol, Nada Tejada.

I blame team sports for the dismal performance of Wakefield High School students.

I think the County has employed a demographer for about the past 8 years.

I am sick of this s***. The Yuppie Elitists are totally controlling our lives and our kids' lives to the point that team sports takes priority over families having supper together and kids' doing homework. Vote Mary 'Party's Over Here' Hynes and 'El Grande Futbol' Tejada out next year. And get the Feds into this county to clean up the corruption.
