Favola Directing Re-Paving $$$ to North Arlington

Hey, Yupette,

If you wondered why South Arlington's streets aren't being repaved it's because Marymount University's Chief Lobbyist and Arlington County Board Member Barbara Favola is directing repaving funds to Yupscale North Arlington.

Can't have Congressman Moran's and Senator Webb's neighborhood streets looking shabby, can we?

It's totally non-partisan. She takes care of her Republican Washington Golf and Country Club buds too.

I would like to know where Marymount University obtained the funds to construct the opulent buildings currently nearing completion.

Barbara hates the poor, working poor, and middle class. She has the typical Upscale Social Worker mentality.

Repaving is because of traffic, traffic, traffic in and out of the Marymount campus.

Marymount spends about $1.5 million a year on fundraising.

Favola's employment by Marymount is a massive conflict of interest. She routinely lobbies for Marymount from her County Board office.

I live in Tidewater and our Board of Supervisors is part-time and are into public service for their county's benefit, regardless of political party. Looks to me that you have a real pirate crew running your county up in Arlington.

Marymount is another insipid "quantity over quality" Catholic college, like Georgetown, which charges a fortune in tuition for a mediocre education - as I discovered after I graduated.

In a few months the hysterical Yuppie Mommies will start calling for speed tables on every street near Marymount because of increased traffic to / from the campus.

Drove up Old Dominion today between Lee Hwy and Glebe road -- saw up to Marymount it was smoothly repaved, pristinely painted and freshly curbed courtesy of AC Board just in time to be ready for Favola employer Marymount's fall dedication ceremony of Caruthers Hall (fyi Caruthers is an R who is a local real estate developer magnate).

Yeah, and you won't see Scotty McCaffrey complaining about the terrible streets in his S. Arlington neighborhood in a SG Editorial. He needs all the advertising he can get from North Arlington Richey Rich Realtors to hit General Electric's quarterly income target.

In fact, if Favola did not CONSTANTLY LOBBY for Marymount's expansion from her County Board office, Marymount would have relocated to Reston....WHERE MARYMOUNT BELONGS!!!

I have repeatedly called 2100 Clarendon Blvd asking to have Washington Boulevard repaved in Westover Village. Repeatedly told that "there's no money in the budget."

thanks for ruining my neighborhood, Barbara said...

Anyone know if McCaffrey is writing the special supplement for the dedication of the new buildings at Marymount?

Ask Scotty at the County Fair, where he'll be handing out Sun Gazette advertising supplements.

Barbara Favola spent at least 1,000 hours in her County Board office getting Marymount's new buildings approved and constructed, including fund raising. I have to wonder how much Marymount is paying her.

Repaving was a partial pay off to 22207 neighborhoods for inconveniences suffered because of construction.

The right lanes of Washington Blvd. in Westover are being repaved, rest of the roadway will not be repaved. How screwed up is that?
