How was the City of Alexandria able to inflict this forthcoming traffic disaster on South Arlington without a word from Arlington's elected officials?

Where was "Guru of Gridlock" Zimmerman when this disaster was being planned? Probably at a fundraiser for Jim Moran sponsored by Bill Euille at Jim Moran's estate above the Potomac.

In what way is the massive re-redevelopment of Alexandria Potomac Yards related to "Smart Growth"? The re-redevelopment will cause vastly more traffic and air pollution. The housing will only be affordable to the middle class if you have two roommates to split the $1,800 a month rent. The trolley would take an hour to travel from Braddock Road to the Pentagon. Thousands more people who will work there will drive in from outlying sprawl suburbs.

Moran, Euille, and Zimmerman live in upscale single-family home enclaves.

It isn't the first redevelopment where Zimmerman has screwed middle class residents. Zimmerman and Penny Gross conspired to screw Claremont residents when they approved the huge apartment complex at S. Dinwiddie and S. George Mason Drive.

I wonder how much their "consulting fee" was from the Developer, who is a generous contributor to Democratic Party causes?

Know this well, Pilgrim, that waren't the first time Excellency Zimmerman has depilated the middle class and it waren't be the last time.

How about the redevelopment of the Walter Reed library and Arlington Mill community center, which the County owns? What's going on there?

Anyone seen the massive conflicts of interest the Coalition for Smarter Growth has with developers, and with people who work for developers?

"Community Leaders" like Zimmerman, Moran, Euille, obviously believe the Federal government will be spending large amounts for war fighting in the Third World for decades.

Call it what it is: Development for the sake of development.

Why does the Coalition for Smarter Growth continue to infill Arlington, Alexandria, and Falls Church? Has the Coalition for Smarter Growth seen what the area near the brand new Prince William VRE station looks like? An economic disaster zone. Put high quality workforce housing there. Let people who live in PW County take the train to work in Arlington, Alexandria, and DC instead of driving.

Coalition for Smarter Growth doesn't care about workforce housing. It wants to re-develop "trendy" neighborhoods and drive the middle class out to the outer suburbs.

County Board invited Stew Schwartz, Executive Director of the Coalition for Smarter Growth to hype the EFC Clarendon in-fill clone. Which he did. Then he took off before the discussion of the next agenda item, 1900 Wilson Blvd. began. This was the item where the discussion was about whether affordable housing would or would not be allowed on-site at 1900 Wilson Blvd. (a new building).

Indicates to me that the Coalition for Smarter Growth is what its critics say it is - an organization dedicated to creating upscale urban recreation and entertainment zones and never mind the consequences.

I long for the days when there was talk of building the new Redskins stadium at this site. It was shouted down for fear of gridlock. Oh my, what I wouldn't give to have gridlock 8 days a year instead of 365.
