Many Arlington Residents Have Expressed Unhappiness With Rolling Thunder

Hello Yupette,

Thank you for your blog.

You should know that many Arlingtonians have expressed unhappiness about the noise and bad behavior from 'Rolling Thunder' We recently suggested that 'Rolling Thunder' move to a resort area like Virginia Beach and that 'Rolling Thunder' be replaced by bicycle and pedestrian events. We were ignored.

Thanks for trying to improve our quality of life, not cater to every special interest that wants to do its thing in Arlington.

I asked the Arlington Police Department why it doesn't enforce Arlington's noise ordinance. No response.

I live in Shirlington. Enough motorcycle noise. Move Rolling Thunder to a resort area.

County Board 2-Step:

Step 1 - Build new high rise residential buildings along I-395 and I-66 (EFC Metro Station).

Step 2 - Invite Rolling Thunder to act out with its Harleys and Ninja bikes.

How responsible.

Thanks for posting the truth about General Electric, Harley Davidson, and the Sun Gazette newspaper.

I have had oocasion to discuss Scott McCaffrey's treatment of political candidates with Scott and concluded that Arlington badly needs a new local newspaper.

perhaps they can move the Cemetery to a resort area too?

Hello, A.Y. Bloggers,

I could not print several comments from Rolling Thunder proponents because they contained too much profanity and hatred.

Rolling Thunder bikers are increasingly a bunch of SISSIES. They trailer their custom-built $50,000 Harley with custom mega-sound pipes to some motel in PW County, ride the event, and then trailer their Harley back to their homes in Dumbass KY. Where they make their old ladies detail the bike for a week before they trailer it to the next event.

Want to know what the typical Rolling Thunder biker looks like? Seen the Viagra commercial where the middle-aged guy is looking at himself in a mirror trying to get the courage to inform his doctor that he can't get an erection?

The fact that Sissy Jay Fisette and Sissy Scott McCaffrey promote this event indicates to me where these so-called bikers are coming from.

Yes, it's become a Sissy Biker event. Move it to Hedo Beach.

The Rolling Thunder Sissies are customizing Honda Tri-Glides, including loud pipes. How ridiculous is that?

Anonymous said...

What is a Honda Tri-Glide?

Rolling Thunder riders are true Patriots. Unlike the Socialists who are running and ruining Arlington and Alexandria.

A Honda Tri-Glide is a sissy trike.

The Bad Harley Bikers are also buying training wheels for their bad hogs. For riding in stop-and-go traffic. What a hoot.

Thank you for this blog and this topic. I live adjacent to I-395 near Lincolnia and the motorcycle noise was very annoying all Memorial Day weekend.

How about the ADULTS out there taking Rolling Thunder forward 5 years. Another 5 million Harleys and Ninja bikes in the U.S. Maybe 5,000 more bikes and bikers participating in Rolling Thunder.

You know it just isn't Arlingtonians they bother the hell out of. It's also thousands who live on the main interstates and roads in Northern VA.

More Harleys = More Harley Dealers = More $$$$ lent to Harley Dealers by GE = More $$$$ for GE to spend subsidizing the Urban Village Idiots who run American Community Newspapers.

GE Capital Credit makes the management decisions for American Community Newspapers and it's subsidiaries, e.g., Arlington Sun Gazette.

Adults? What Adults? This is Arlington County. The Yups are in charge.

This blog is a HOOT. Thank you for going after the turkeys who desperately need a kick in their tail feathers.

Rolling Thunder is a bunch of f-ing a-holes who bothered the hell out of everyone who lives between Arlington and at least 10 miles out on both sides of Rt 1, I-395, and I-66 for 4 days. It wasn't just a few hundred people in Arlington who were bothered.

The neocons who support Rolling Thunder are also a bunch of a-holes. Especially the neocon a-holes who post on Free Republic.

I live in Crystal City and Rolling Thunder woke me up at 1 AM all four nights.

Free Creepublic? Bunch of Reagan-Bush Pig S*** that sees our 'future' as a nation fighting wars in the third world.

Free Republic = trailer court trash + trailer court trash wannabees. Of COURSE they support Rolling Thunder.

Rolling Thunder is simply the sound of freedom and respect towards those that died to preserve freedom so that Arlington Democrat Progressives can continue to freely smear those that provided them with the freedom to do as such.

Rolling Thunder is simply the sound of spoiled children playing with their $20,000 toys. This event should never have been allowed to happen. Rolling Thunder JDs (juvenile delinquents) don't even want to acknowledge that they MIGHT be causing problems.

Idiotic County Government approved site plans for new residential buildings right at the edge of I-395. What did they expect? That people would not complain about bikes being revved to 10,000 RPM at 1 AM?

Sound of Freedom? That's what the Navy says about fighters taking off and landing in VA Beach. So move the event to VA Beach.

Notice Rolling Thunder bikers do not take personal responsibility but blame residents of the host county where they hold their event(s) for not tolerating bad behavior.

Typical 'blame the liberals' comment, most often seen on Free Republic.
