Unsolved Murders + Taser Killings By Police = Time For A New Police Chief

Hello, Yupette,

I don't think there is another county in the USA that has two murders that occurred over the past 6 months (both unsolved) concomitant with two TASER deaths inflicted by Arlington Police Officers. Time for a New Police Chief? Appears so.

AGREED. Chief Scott is a long-time on-the-job-retiree. Time he retired.

Yeah, Arlington Police Dept. is very adept at tasering homeless people who have psychiatric problems, thanks to the County Board's Keep the Homeless Homeless policy

This is what occurs when homeless people are on the streets, when County Government pretends it's a smart growth suburb rather than a dumb growth mess.

Chief Scott goes along with the County Board, to the detriment of his department. Stunt the County Board pulled eliminating and then restoring community policing from the FY 11 budget is the latest example.

Chief Scott is no better or worst than anyone else who heads a department in Arlington's government.

What "community policing"? ACPD spends its time preparing for the next 9-11. They just got a grant to purchase an armored vehicle.

I work with the homeless and Arlington's police department cannot deal with the number of homeless people on our streets. Rather than asking the County Board to effectively end homelessness he and the police continue to act like cowboys.

ACPD should change its name to Arlington Cowboy Police Department.
