CivFed Republicans Vote to Sock Taxpayers with 6.3% Increase

Hey Yupette:

North Arlington Republicans on the Civic Federation's Revenue and Expenditures Committee voted to hit Arlington taxpayers with a 6.3% tax increase (County Manager recommended 6.7%) and a hefty increase in fees.

What a bunch of turkeys.

Check it out at:

Fiscal responsibility? It's a bi-partisan joke.

Typical, they cut the programs and services everyone uses or could use and don't touch their pet projects and special interests.

Civ Fed meets Tuesday, April 6th at 7:30 PM at Arlington Hospital to vote on its Revenue and Expenditures Committee's (aka N. Arlington good ol boys) budget recommendations.

Oh, you also have to be a good old boy or good old girl to be a Civ Fed delegate and vote.

Wayne Kubicki (Chair of the CivFed's Revenue and Expenditures North Arlington Good Ol Boy Committee) is distressed that people who aren't good old boys don't want to be on his committee.

Biggest loser on the R & E Committee is Tim "Lap Dog" Wise, President of the Arlington County Taxpayer's Association.

Was there any other person who voted who was not upscale and white, besides Cecilia Espenoza

Charade Season Is Here said...

Basically what happened was the County Board cut essential and popular services and programs, did not cut its own pet programs and projects, Civic Federation restored the essential and popular services and programs (police, fire, libraries). Wasteful and inefficient spending was not touched.
