Potomac Overlook Park - Same Old Park, More Green PR

Hello, Yupette,

I visited the Potomac OverLook Nature Center, now the James Mayer Memorial Nature Center, the other day to see what the Energerium is all about. The Energerium consists of a number of plaques affixed to the inside walls asking visitors to turn off unused lights, buy compact florescent bulbs, etc. The solar panel demonstration project is apparently not producing energy. Solar water heating panels were recently installed on the Park Ranger's home, and are working well. The worst of the invasive plants have been removed.

The "Energerium" is one of Paulie Ferguson's brainstorms. As you may remember, Paulie was Mr. Green during his 12 years on the County Board (1995-2007).

If you want to see a really green building check out Minnie Howard School near Ft. Ward Park in Alexandria, 1/4 mile from Paulie's home in Fairlington.

Park should be renamed "Potomac Overlook Dog Exercise and Nature Center."

For what the "Energerium" cost in PR the Nature Center could have its building insullation upgraded to porvide real energy savings.

Hello, I live in Ohio and ran across this blog. You people in Arlington are all PIGS and my tax dollars go to support your extravagant lifestyles. Do any of you have real jobs? Or do all you on-the-job retirees sit in a warm federal office building and shuffle papers all day when you aren't on "annual leave" or "sick leave"?

Some of us Todd investigate idiots like you to "make sure" you are not involved in terrorist activity.

Todd, what does the USAF do at Wright-Patterson AFB which is in your back yard?

Only "terrorists" in Arlington are the Nanny Nancys who are de facto ward heelers of both political parties and enforce political correctness when they aren't starting and spreading malicious gossip about anyone who doesn't "go along with the program." Often from their offices in federal office building.

FBI breaks into and conducts warrantless searches of residences and businesses when it isn't trying to make Muslim-Americans who oppose U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East make incriminating statements.

Arlington Career Center is receiving $3.3 million for renovations and I don't think any of that $$$ will go for renewable energy.

FBI has infiltrated every major non-Republican, non-Conservative independent and third party political campaign in the United States since 9-11-01 (e.g., Greens). Has conducted numerous warrantless breakins and wiretaps of every person and organization it deems "socialist."
