County Staff Forced to Spend Hours Rehearsing Before County Board Meetings

Hi Yupette,

Did you know that county staff has to rehearse our testimony before county board meetings? This sometimes takes all day the day before the meeting. Huge waste of time, but we are forced to do it.

Anon.

County has at least 20 PR flacks on the payroll, 14 in the County Manager's office.

Don't forget the County Board's primo PR flunky, Sun Gazette editor Scott McCaffrey.

McCaffrey is only a part-time flunky for the CB; he spends most of his time promoting the Chamber of Commerce's agenda.

One reason I retired last year.

How much does this entire PR effort cost taxpayers? Every County Board meeting is a big PR production.

At least $2.5 million / year.

Was any time at all spent planning for a major snowstorm?

Where was the rehearsal for a major snow storm?

Duh, they haven't sufficiently plowed the roads and there will be another storm before New Year's Day.
