Hynes Confirms $90-$100 Million Budget Shortfall Next Year, States Things Will Get Worse in 2011

In an election-eve statement to several Arlington County civic associations, Arlington County Board Member Mary Hynes confirmed that Arlington County will likely experience a $90 million to $100 million budget shortfall in 2010 and that Arlington's economy will be even worse in 2011. She also stated that Arlington County would close the budget gap of $90 to $100 million "through some combination of tax and fee increases and cuts in services." The County's current budget is about $1 billion.

So, she actually expects us to support her and the County Board (and re-elect Fisette tomorrow) after the garbage they pulled over teh past 6 months with their extravagant spending?

I saw Hynes's statement in the Fairlington civic association newsletter today. She actually expects us to go along with a huge increase in taxes and fees and a reduction in services next year. After 6 months of extravagant vanity project spending by the County Board. And Fairlington's ward heeler nanny nancy civic association is going right along with Mary. Time for a big change on teh County Board. Starting tomorrow!

Really, I mean REALLY. They vote to spend hundreds of millions unnecessarily over the past six months and then dare to tell us on the eve of the election to vote for Fisette so they can raise our taxes 10 percent so they can keep up the spending on vanity projects next year?

Please vote for John Reeder for County Board.

Why are we even THINKING of voting for Jay Fisette?

So Jay Fisette will raise taxes 10% in 2010 so he can continue to build extravagant recreation facilities like the $150 million Jay Fisette Aquatics Center? Not on THIS taxpayer's dime. John Reeder for County Board !!!

Mary Hynes is a total wuse when it comes to telling Jay Fisette and the rest of the County Board to stop spending extravagantly on their pet projects.

Mary Hynes? What a waste on the County Board. Too bad she's not up for re-election. But Jay Fisette is.

No way I will ever vote for Jay.

Republicrats are all laughing and joking together at the polls. You would think that Creigh McDonnell was the candidate for Governor. What a bi-partisan charade. No wonder the USA is in such bad shape.

Yes, I noticed that when I voted this morning.

I am afraid it's a bi-partisan circus out there today. The Repubs and Dems handing out literature think the election is a big joke.

See how much Bob McDonnell gives Arlington next year.

Hynes told the nanny nancys who run the Fairlington civic association to tell Fairlington residents - don't worry, be happy, the C.B. knows what's best for you.
