Does the Arlington Chamber of Commerce Control Arlington?

Several Arlington residents asked A.Y. to start this thread. Your opinion, please.

Yes. And it answers the questions why there is no renewable energy in Arlington and why the County is headed for massive gridlock, total gentrification, and terrible air pollution.

Ask Arl. Chamber of Commerce Board member and Arl. Sun Gazette editor Scott McCaffrey, who constantly promotes the Chamber's agenda in the Sun Gazette.

The Chamber of Commerce says it, the County Board believes it, and that settles it.

Yupette, can someone post the names of the Arlington Chamber of Commerce Board Members?

Hi Yupette,

U.S. Chamber of Commerce states it is all for renewable energy. However, it's takes neo-con positions on other social, economic, environmental, etc., issues.

Arlington Chamber is dominated by developers and the law firms that represent developers. They hate renewable energy.

Does it indicate something is terribly wrong with the Chamber of Commerce's pro-development agenda when Arlington's population grew by more than 20,000 over the past decade and Arlington has never been able to balance a budget without raising taxes?

They also start malicious rumors about anyone who doesn't go along with the Chamber's program.

Arlington Chamber of Commerce is opposed to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's position on renewable energy.

When was the last time you saw anything about renewable energy installed on residential or commercial buildings in the Sun Gazette?

Renewable energy is "off limits" as a topic of discussion at Arlington Chamber of Commerce meetings.

FYI, Arlington Chamber President Richard Doud has ZERO tolerance for any suggestions about how the Arlington Chamber might improve.

Rich Doud should have retired a decade ago. The 1950's have been over for 50 years.
