Time for a recall petition drive to remove Jay Fisette from office, followed by similar recall petition drives for Zimmerman and Favola.

I agree. Fisette, Favola, and Zimmerman no longer care about anyone or anything but the welfare of their pet special interests and developers.

Wonderful about all the parades and fireworks on 4th of July. When does my street get paved?

Did you see which arts groups are going to get the bulk of the County's arts grants again this year. Yep, the wealthy live theater groups.

Live Theater Sux said...

Duh...no brainer. Eighty percent of Arlington's arts grants go to Jay Fisette's buds in the live theater organizations, In return for their supporting Jay's County Board campaign.

The Rosslyn Cultural Center is a huge Ponzi scheme to transfer tax dollars to the wealthy corporations (Boeing, Vornado Realty, etc.) that will be running the Cultural Center after the County stops directly subsidizing operations.

Does anyone else realize how much the County has already committed to these recreation and entertainment projects? The upkeep and replacement costs will be huge.

Hi Yupette,

Did you wonder why the coverage of the Cultural Center giveaway in the Post's Alexandria-Arlington supplement was so one sided?

Well, the Secretary of the Synetic Theater is Rima Calderon who is the Post's top PR person in her day job.

Yupette, dedicated bond funds for other projects are being illegally transferred to the cultural center project.

The Fiscal Affairs Advisory Committee members were told they would not be reappointed if they did not approve the Cultural Center. Surprise. They voted on June 19th to approve the Cultural Center!

The local media (Post, Sun-Gazette, etc.) don't care if the Cultural Center is an expensive flop, as long as they get to run expensive ads for Cultural Center activities before it flops.

Hi Yupette, take a look at a couple of the corporations that will on the Cultural Center's BOD - Vornado Realty, $1 billion profits this year, and Boeing, $4 billion profits this year.

Time to start a Recall petition to get Jay Fisette out of office, if that is possible.

Where is the Green Party? Spending all their time in court fighting for a Housing Authority referendum?

They Play...We Pay said...

If Boeing and Vornado will be on the Cultural Center's Board of Directors and making all the decision, why aren't they paying?

What do you expect from Yupublicrats?

As for the Green Party, what do you expect from Green Yupublicrats?

Conflict of Interest? Jay Fisette's domestic partner contributed to Jay's campaign and is on the board of the Signature Theater. Several others who have contributed recently to Fisette's campaign are on the boards of the Signature, Classika-Synetic, and Washington Shakespeare Company.

Yupette, can we have a thread about our cell phones being blocked and many more helicopters overhead at all hours the past 6 months?

Yupette, next campaign finance reports are due July 15th. Any guess as to how many on the Signature, Classika-Synetic and Washington Shakespeare Group boards of directors gave to Fisette?

Recall petition to remove Fisette would require about 8.000 signatures.

We've been trying to work with these folks--including Mary Hynes, who I have don't have anything nice to say about--for the better part of two years, trying to salvage the Courthouse Markets before and after Georgetown Market management pulled out and left a community of Arlington vendors holding the bag. Mary, Jay, et al have now let the Clarendon Alliance--taxpayer funded, by the way--cancel the Sunday market because it wasn't profitable (uh, aren't they a nonprofit? Aren't they supposed to advertise it?).

These folks are aware of some serious misdeeds by the Clarendon Alliance, who hold the permits for the markets, but look the other way even when the evidence is placed an inch from their noses.

State's got a hold of some of it now, we'll see what happens, but I'm just shocked and amazed that these people on the local level can be this "pork oriented" when it comes to protecting their assets at the expense of the community they were elected to serve.

Based on conversations I've had with people in the Courthouse neighborhood on Saturdays and Sundays, those 8,000 signatures might not be all that hard to come by.

Hey, Yupette, there is a big big movement on to get the corrupt amd inefficient County Manager form of government in Arlington replaced by better government.

The Arlington County Board's pet Nanny Nancy ward heelers who run the Fairlington Citizens Association are out to put lipstick on Tim Kaine's HOT Lanes pig. In return for being re-appointed to the Planning Commission, etc.
