Here's the thread...

If ACTA had its act together Arlington taxpayers would know that at least $100 million of the County's $1 billion dollar budget is wasted and mismanaged.

Time for County "Manager" Ron Carlee to "seek other employment opportunities." He's an ongoing disaster.

Could someone compute what the new Cherrydale Fire Station has cost Arlington taxpayers over the past 15 years? The cost in staff time alone must exceed $10 million.

Arlington has 1,000 miles of streets, roads, and paved trails. Only about 30 miles get repaved each year. But there is always plenty of money for new Yuppie sports and recreation centers. Never mind Arlington's street lighting, which is early 20th Century. And once a street tree is planted it's on its own until it dies.

Almost half, $450 million, of what Arlington County collects in taxes goes to educate Arlington's 18,000 K-12 students. That's $25,000 per student. What do we get for this expenditure? A school system that caters to North Arlington Yups and their Gen Z kids. There is an enrichment program for every N. Arlington child in the school system. How about my kid who attends Wakefield H.S.? Oh, Wakefield is in S. Arlington, so my kid gets Montessori, even though her IQ is above 130.

We already know the priorities of the bi-partisan Yups who run Arlington - more ugly, expensive, infill redevelopment. Government of, by, and for the developers. Yuppie Board of Entertainment, Sports, and Recreation. Don't worry be happy, we know what's best for you. How about starting another thread?
